Here's the celebrations for this day!
Correction with the holidays:
Today is Metric System Day and Thesaurus Day.
Tomorrow is Popcorn Day, Whisper "I Love You" Day, Tin Can Day, and Brew A Potion Day.
Uh oh! I don't know what day it is! Thanks for the correction Tulip.
That's okay. I know what day it is because it's the first day of the semester. Ugh!
Plus, I'm sure you're just too excited about your trip to notice what day it is. ;-)
Rogit's Thezrus dai!
Here's an irony: Martin Luther King, Jr, Day and the African-American something-or-other exhibit building was closed at the local state college...
Howdy. I just got back to my office . Been out at a job site
Psalm 23 (For the Work Place)
The Lord is my real boss, and I shall not want.
He gives me peace, when chaos is all around me.
He gently reminds me to pray and do all things without murmuring and complaining.
He reminds me that HE is my source and not my job.
He restores my sanity everyday and guides my decisions that I might honor him in all that I do.
Even though I face absurd amounts of e-mails, system crashes,
unrealistic deadlines, budget cutbacks, gossiping co-workers, discriminating supervisors and an aging body that doesn't cooperate every morning, I still will not stop------ for He is with me!
His presence, His peace, and His power will see me through.
He raises me up, even when they fail to promote me.
He claims me as His own, even when the company threatens to let me go.
His Faithfulness and love is better than any bonus check.
His retirement plan beats every 401k there is!
When it's all said and done, I'll be working for Him a whole lot longer and for that,
I BLESS HIS NAME!!!!!!
AMEN!!!
That's really good PAL! Passed it on to some friends in the working world who will appreciate it. I gotta finish packing!!! We leave too-stinkin-early-in-the-morning for DC! WooHoo! I'm so excited. Wish you and the rest of the gang at Amy's Place were going.
Hi PAL! That is really good. I'm sorry I missed you today. First day of classes went fine. I hope to see you tomorrow. :-)
Read: Psalm 119:57-64
I am a companion of all who fear You. Psalm 119:63
Bible In One Year: Exodus 11-13
Two men were neighborsone had opened his heart to Christ and the other had not. The believer witnessed often; the other ignored him.
One day the Christian answered a knock at his door and his neighbor stood before him with a big smile. "I finally did what you said. This morning I opened my heart to Jesus!" The two embraced and cried. Over the years, they supported and prayed for each other, and they became the best of friends. They served together in an effective jail ministry for 25 years.
Fellowship is an essential part of what it means to be a Christian. The psalmist made this strong statement of identification with those who reverence God and keep His commands: "I am a companion of all who fear You" (Psalm 119:63). The Bible has numerous examples of companionship: David had Jonathan. Paul had Silas. Mark had Barnabas. Jesus had His disciples. The churches in Acts were made up of people who stood together in sometimes hostile and difficult circumstances.
The church is a fellowship, a community. Our circle of Christian friends helps us in many ways as we walk together along the path God has laid out for us. They offer just the kind of companionship we need. Dave Egner
The Thesaurus was the most destructive dinosaur of all. Thank goodness they are extinct now!
