You did fine. Anyway, we gotta think about promoting this place. We don't need to do it now.

Ah, Carol Channing supposedly owns that song. She introduced it in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes." It's her signature song. I'd rather listen to Jo Stafford do it.
Did you ever come across Jonathan and Darlene Edwards? That was a comedy routine by Stafford and her husband, Paul Weston. They feigned being night club perfomers who were, perhaps, more than a bit tipsy. It was all done with a straight face, but the music they made was........ off. They were off key, they missed notes. It gets hilarious.

Did you ever come across Jonathan and Darlene Edwards? I didn't, but how about his brother Tommy, will it be OK?

Yes, I think so.
I think I should go to sleep now. See you all tomorrow.
I had a great time.
To: Victoria Delsoul; JustAmy
I should get some sleep too. Good night!
To: Victoria Delsoul; tuliptree76
Good night and sweet dreams.
After I post tomorrow's thread, I will only be here for a short time.
Y'all have fun while I'm gone and I'll check in whenever I'm able.
MamaBear is taking her laptop so I should be here most every evening for a while.

I don't think Tommy is a relation :-) Found this synopsis.
Jonathan and Darlene Edwards
During the fifties and sixties, orchestra leader Paul Weston and his wife, legendary singer Jo Stafford, recorded several albums under the names of Jonathan and Darlene Edwards. The Jonathan and Darlene recordings were parodies of a bad lounge act. Weston, as pianist Jonathan, played arrangements in 7/4 time, tripped over chords and speeded up suddenly on one bar, only to slow down again on the next. Stafford, as singer Darlene, would stumble over words, miss her cues, sing terribly off-key and throw in unusual vocal sounds.
The couple's Jonathan and Darlene In Paris won a Grammy for Best Comedy Album. Other Jonathan and Darlene recordings include: The Original Piano Artistry of Jonathan Edwards, Vocals by Darlene Edwards; Darlene Remembers Duke, Jonathan Plays Fats; Songs for Shieks and Flappers; and Singalong with Jonathan and Darlene, which singalong king Mitch Miller blamed for the death of his career. The couple reprised Jonathan and Darlene in the seventies and had a ''hit'' with their version of ''Stayin' Alive.''
