 Christmastime
 Is Friendship Time

At Christmastime our hearts reach out
To friends we think of dearly
And checking through our friendship lists,
As all of us do yearly,

 We stop awhile to reminisce
 And to pleasantly review
 Happy little happenings
And things we used to do,

And though we've been too busy
To keep in touch all year,
 We send a Christmas greeting
At this season of good cheer.

So Christmas is a lovely link
 Between old years and new
That keeps the bond of friendship
 Forever unbroken and true.

You should stay in bed until 7:00 AM except for emergencies. :) You must pass your hand over me and order me to stay there:) I got up at 4:30 AM like usual and started tooling around. I am beginning to feel like I'm the one who makes the sun rise! I quit coffee for tea. There are nice flavors in tea available, so I am experimenting.
Do you know what would do well with tea? Spanish Anis liquor. Licorice tasting and sweet because it is based on dextrose- blood sugar. I don't think you can find it in the US because the market doesn't know about it.
Just think, raspberry-licorice tea without sucrose! Mmmm!
Feliz Navidad, Amy. I'm going to Simi Valley to overeat and play poker and blackjack with about 13 cousins, uncles and aunts:)

In Part

Whose woods these are, I think I know,
He does not live in houses, though,
His is the realm above the skies,
A home which dwarfs the world in size.

I take a moment from my rounds,
To pause amidst these sheltered grounds,
And look up to the source of all,
To speak my thanks with yelping call.

His is a gaze so sharp and keen,
Hell see right through these flakes so clean,
A thought from Him for those below,
Who watch His woods fill up with snow.

This is my blessing, I and mine,
To share in something quite divine,
I do my part in His great plan,
 Another part belongs to Man.

 Legend Of The Candy Cane

A Candymaker wanted to make a candy
that would be a witness for his Lord,
so he made the Christmas Candy Cane.
 He incorporated several symbols for
 the birth, ministry, and death
 of Jesus Christ.

He began with a stick of pure white,
hard candy. White to symbolize the
virgin birth and the sinless nature
of Jesus, and hard to symbolize the
Solid Rock, the foundation of the
 Church and firmness of
 the promises of God.

The candymaker made the candy in the
form of a "J" to represent the precious
name of Jesus, who came to earth as our
Savior. It could also represent the
staff of the "Good Shepherd " with which
He reaches down into the ditches of the
world to lift out the fallen lambs who,
like all sheep have gone astray.

Thinking that the candy was somewhat plain,
the candy maker stained it with red stripes.
He used three small stripes to show the stripes
of the scourging Jesus received by which we
are healed. The large red stripe was for the
blood shed by Christ on the cross so that we
could have the promise of eternal life.

Unfortunately, the candy became known as
a Candy Cane - a meaningless decoration seen
at Christmas time. But the meaning is still
there for those who "have eyes to see and ears
to hear". I pray that this symbol will again
be used to witness to the wonder of Jesus and
His great love that came down at Christmas
and remains the ultimate and dominant force
 in the universe today.
