Glossary of Terms:

denim - a heavy, coarse cotton cloth with a diagonal weave, used especially for overalls and for upholstery and sports clothes

dungarees - trousers, work clothes or overalls made of a coarse cotton cloth called dungaree

jeans - overalls or trousers made of a strong, heavy, twilled cotton cloth

overalls - loose trousers, often made of denim, worn over clothes to keep them clean

Trust Him

Mankind was given many gifts,
Free will, I think is best.
The choice to live a higher life,
Or wallow with the rest.
I’ve chosen roads that went nowhere,
Because, I knew the way.
The warnings, they were everywhere,
But I did not obey.
The Lord won’t make us do what’s right,
But hints to us, He’ll give.
If we just listen, watch, and learn,
He shows us how to live.
So read His Word, His Truth is there,
And praise His Holy name.
Then once you let Him guide your way,
Your life won’t be the same.
Life will not always go your way,
But with Him, peace you’ll find.
Remember that come Judgment Day,
He won’t leave you, behind.

I just heard that there is snow in some areas of the San Joaquin Valley. The weather station reported light snow in Merced.

No snow in the Dallas area. :^D

Cloudy and in the 50's or so. We had a little rain overnight and a little mist this morning.

I just ran over to Wally World (Wal-Mart). I had to get me a water pan. My SIL bought us a turkey just before Thanksgiving and I had already bought one. I smoked the one she gave me the day before Thanksgiving. So I'm gonna smoke the other one today.

I gave half of the first one to my SIL, and I'll give half of this one to my her, too.

And we all love smoked turkey, too! Yum!! :^D

any snow in Tulare?

No snow, but there has been ice in the fountain in the mornings. I see the poor little goldfinches pecking at the ice trying to get a drink.

I picked as much citrus as was ready so that it didn't freeze. Still had to leave several dozen lemons on the tree that were still a bit green. They are probably ruined now. Still we are knee deep in pink grapefruit, lemons and naval oranges around here.

This cold weather is probably good. It will help acclimate us to winter so that it won't be such a shock when we go back to DC. :-)
