Do you use PS or GIMP?
The Anti-Smoking People and the US Treasury would be after you if you did that.
One for smoking and the other for counterfeiting.
I suggest surrendering to the Feds quickly as they will only put you in jail. Those Anti-smokers on the other hard, are down right nasty.
Actually, just MS Paint and MS Photo Editor. I'm very much an amateur. And cheap.

Do you use just pencil?
I think you would do well with Rapidograph and non-lead pencil, like Prismacolors. Using grey/black good quality colored pencils helps cut down on smudging.
If you're not into rough drafts or studies, and just rework an original, drawing first and then finalizing lines with the Rapidograph or even fine-line marker gives a nice effect.
I think I recall seeing a couple other pieces of yours. Pretty cool.
I use mech pencils with HB high polymer leads.
I also have Derwent Graphic drawing pencils, but rarely use them.
I have some prismacolor pencils, used them for colorising the one image "Terminally P.O'd Chick".
I rarely use color though.
Currently, the mech pencil I use most often is a Zebra M-402 .5mm lead mech pencil, but the small eraser refills are no longer made.
