What an ugly fight scene that was!

 Autumn Fires

 In the other gardens
 And all up the vale,
 From the autumn bonfies
 See the smoke trail!

 Pleasant summer over
 And all the summer flowers,
 The red fire blazes,
 the grey smoke towers.

 Sing a song of seasons!
 Something bright in all,
 Flowers in the summer
 Fires in the fall!

Hi Amy! I hope you are having a great day today. I did a little shopping this afternoon. It's getting colder outside. In a way, it is nice to have a change from the hot weather. I just don't want it to snow yet, but they are predicting snow in a couple of days.

This one is for Meekie because Texas has had so much rain, CG an LE because they hate rain; NnB because he writes poems about rain and for me because I love rain (probably because we get such a small amount every year.)

 Horses and Men in Rain
 Carl Sandburg

LET us sit by a hissing steam radiator a winters day, gray wind pattering frozen raindrops on the window,
And let us talk about milk wagon drivers and grocery delivery boys.

Let us keep our feet in wool slippers and mix hot punchesand talk about mail carriers and messenger boys slipping along the icy sidewalks.
Let us write of olden, golden days and hunters of the Holy Grail and men called knights riding horses in the rain, in the cold frozen rain for ladies they loved.

A roustabout hunched on a coal wagon goes by, icicles drip on his hat rim, sheets of ice wrapping the hunks of coal, the caravanserai a gray blur in slant of rain.
Let us nudge the steam radiator with our wool slippers and write poems of Launcelot, the hero, and Roland, the hero, and all the olden golden men who rode horses in the rain.

Good afternoon, Tulip. They are still predicting frost here.

I've been trying to upload pictures of Marissa with her turkey project.

Day has been going okay. I'll bet if felt good to get some shopping done. I still have lots to do. :(

They nailed the players. I hope they prosecute them as well. 12 million a year to beat up fans? I think not.

That is just sooooo cute! Tell Marissa that I said she has a very nice looking turkey there.
Lucky you. I used to love doing craft things with my son when he was little. I could be a kid again. I never outgrew crayons and watercolors. :-)
To: JustAmy
Thanks. :^D I am hoping the rain lets up pretty soon.
I have a now thawed out turkey from Wal-Mart that I am ready to smoke in my outdoor cooker.
I'll take either tomorrow or Wednesday, whichever obliges me. :^)
