Hi Amy! I hope you are having a great day today. I was busy once again today. Hopefully things will slow down a bit again and I'll get a bit of a break for more FReep time during the day. Today was another pleasant day - it got a little warm but it's cooling off now.

U.S. Army Special Forces (Airborne) a.k.a. The Green BeretsI served with a bunch of great guys from the 10th Special Forces Group, Ft Devens Mass
Ft Devens is now closed, thanks clinton.
At my stag party in 1976 they were opening beer bottles with thier teeth
and we were having beer guzzling contests.
Needless to say I don't remember much of that night.
My drinkin days have been over for 12 years now.
Great bunch of guys and always a Professional Soldier, God Bless them..

Today was nice but we got a little rain this afternoon. We stayed indoors all day.
Hope you had a wonderful Wednesday.

Ah, Ft. Devens. Home of my ROTC summer camp experience. That was the summer I chipped a tooth in our beer relay around the track. Gotta hand it to my dentist. Fixed me up proper, but utterly destroyed my whistle. Then again, he suggested plugging a developing cavity and proceeded to drill the wrong molar. At least it was free.
At least Devens didn't have Ft. Benning's red clay, or Grafenwoehr's dust-blowin-in-your-eyes while standing in ankle-deep mud, he said fondly. My driver put our jeep in muck that even an M-60 couldn't extricate. Amazing to see its tracks spin. Had to send for the VTR to break the suction. Something like Madame Pavlova on wheels, but that's another story.
Best wishes on Veterans Day tomorrow!

That's funny..
The dentist that got ahold of me at Cutler Army hospital
yanked out my lower wisdom teeth with just novacane.
Worst pain of my life,...jerk.... it was free though.
Happy Veterans day to you too..

A Weeping of Stones
This is where the love went, that sang from youthful eyes,
Into the stone which weeps its tears, when joined by weeping skies.
The stone now shouts its lie out, the pain from metal blade,
Here lies the symbol of a love. Heres where the pain has stayed.
The sculptor had an artful eye, and caught the loving glance.
He froze it with a chilling spell, and sundered loves last chance.
Though art could capture what he saw, his heart was dead to sight,
In carving out a lovers stare, he closed off lovings light.
The girl has gone now, her reward, unknown to all of us,
How sad that this reminder then, becomes a warning thus,
Look out upon the world and see the wonder that is there,
But do not close your eye to love, and do not lose your share.
The sculptor died alone, they said, a sad and lonely man,
Who could have found fond happiness, as any of us can.
His fame did not provide for him the pleasures that hed planned.
But I have seen a face like hers on children of this land.

Evening Amy. Making a few rounds before turning in and thought I'd stop by to say hey.
Hi Vic. Sleeping yet? Sweet dreams.

Wow!
I sure messed up my signature line.
Maybe my eyes will work better if I close them for a while.

Thank y'all so much for the precious poem and graphic!

That picture reminds me of me, quite a few years ago.
But that would have been my brother's dog, Lucky.
Yeah, he was "So-o-o Happy!!"
Good Night!

Sometimes a picture captures a memory like that for me, too! Did you have any dogs or cats growing up?
