I served with a bunch of great guys from the 10th Special Forces Group, Ft Devens Mass
Ft Devens is now closed, thanks clinton.
At my stag party in 1976 they were opening beer bottles with thier teeth
and we were having beer guzzling contests.
Needless to say I don't remember much of that night.
My drinkin days have been over for 12 years now.
Great bunch of guys and always a Professional Soldier, God Bless them..
Ah, Ft. Devens. Home of my ROTC summer camp experience. That was the summer I chipped a tooth in our beer relay around the track. Gotta hand it to my dentist. Fixed me up proper, but utterly destroyed my whistle. Then again, he suggested plugging a developing cavity and proceeded to drill the wrong molar. At least it was free.
At least Devens didn't have Ft. Benning's red clay, or Grafenwoehr's dust-blowin-in-your-eyes while standing in ankle-deep mud, he said fondly. My driver put our jeep in muck that even an M-60 couldn't extricate. Amazing to see its tracks spin. Had to send for the VTR to break the suction. Something like Madame Pavlova on wheels, but that's another story.
Best wishes on Veterans Day tomorrow!
Thank you for your service, Rus.
