You want me to explain it? I can't even explain my own!
However, that being said, I visited a site via Google, (here), and found three poems, including this one, as well as a biography.
My explanation, based on the allusions she draws in the other poems, is that it a food allegory to a sexual adventure. It this case, a um, Sapphic sexual adventure.
Aren't you glad you asked for an explanation? (Please don't ask me to explain the explanation!!)
I'm here.
Inspiration hasn't hit yet.
But a cold has.
My sinuses it has invaded
My lungs it has controlled
And out the window
with my mind it did flew.
LOL Terrific analogy. Makes perfect sense. Dead on my friend.
I hope that one inspired you to write some poems. I'm getting tired of doing the Google. :)
I think CG was right, the poet is a grapefruit! ;~)
Obviously, someone from a blue state who is angry at the fact that red is now fashionable in the heartland of America.
I promise to write after Thanksgiving, maybe before.
A Poem for the Swiftees, by Russ Vaughn
Bold John sailed forth in his faux scow,
Till the Swiftees fired across his bow;
And legions of irate attorneys,
Could not defend Cambodian journeys,
Nor stories of his fabled hat,
So voters sensed they smelled a rat.
And while the networks denied them prime,
The Swiftees surely got their time.
While John screamed it was all a smear,
OBrien came across sincere,
And forced Big John to duck the press,
To run, to hide from his specious mess.
But relentless those old Swiftee guys,
They bit, hung on, exposed his lies.
These brave old warriors once again
Stood for their country, for their kin.
They made us all look one more time
At the traitor whod charged them with crime,
And gave false witness to their deeds,
For nothing more than political needs.
Its a smear proclaimed the New York Times,
Those liars all committed crimes.
Chris Matthews raged, foamed at the mouth,
Still the turncoats campaign headed south.
So the Swiftboat Veterans charges stuck,
And made poor John a sitting duck.
He had no answers, no glib replies,
To cover up his treasonous lies;
That made us think, our minds aware,
The Swiftees had some truth in there;
What if hed faked his combat valor,
Were all those medals tinged with pallor?
Dan Rather would not pay them heed,
But still the Swiftees made John bleed.
The mainstream pundits called them liars;
But no lefty slant could staunch these fires.
The blazes that these Swiftees set,
Were burning John Boys ass you bet;
And those Swiftboat fires just burned away,
Till they fried Johns ass on election day.
Now all you heroes on that Wall,
Take solace seeing Kerry fall.
This scheming pol who stained your name,
Has been denied his claim to fame.
The Swiftees stood and did their best,
Denied the traitor his lifes quest.
You can rest in peace our honored kin,
Your honor restored by honorable men.

LOL
You and Marissa have both been hit with the krud! Ya been hanging out at the same threads? :)
That is fantastic. Thank you so much!
Hi Victoria! I'm having a nice evening. I'm still busy - have stuff to do for tomorrow. I hope you had a great day!
;~)
Cute, Victoria. Thanks.
Hope you've had a great day.
Marissa and I both got tired at the basketball game. She liked basketball more than she liked the football game. There is lots of music and the cheerleaders are close enough to see.
There is another game on Sunday afternoon. I guess we will try again and see how it goes. Going on a school night is not good. We didn't get home until 10:00. She slept in the car for about 45 minutes.
Are you going to the Inaugural Ball?
If you get anything new for Veteran's Day, let me know.
Hi Amy! I hope you are having a wonderful day today. I was in the office *all* day and didn't have any time for FReeping. Now I'm trying to catch up. LOL! Looks like I missed out on more festivities today.
Umm...
*eys shift left and right*
I dunno.
That is a great article for Veteran's Day! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Hope you had a terrific Tuesday.
Wonderful!!!
Thank you for bringing that to Amy's Place.
The Swift Boat Vets did an outstanding job getting the truth about the traitor out.
We've had a pretty good day. Did not accomplish very much. :)
Took Marissa to doctor about her cough. They put her on an anti-biotic, plus a cough syrup and an expectorant. Said her tonsils are inflamed and she has fluid in her ears in addition to the congestion.
