Chestnut Harvest Festival (Michigan) -- on an open fire!
Chestnut Roast (Missouri) -- I love roasts! Trump just had his.
Harvest Festival (Michigan) -- NY's last weekend was great!
Autumn Festival (New York) -- so we're trying it again, slightly modified.
Sherwood Fest (Arkansas) -- a perfectly musical time with lots of food, games and merry-making !
Oatmeal Day -- recipes requested for cookies, breads, soups, soaps, shampoos, etc.
World Food Day -- The UN Programme: We Feed People in Poverty, HIV-AIDS, Children and, last but not least, Famine.
HarvestFest (Texas) -- "Man who wants a good harvest will not sow bad seed," or was that yesterday?
Apple Harvest Festival (South Carolina) -- "An apple a day makes 365 apples a year."

A friend is someone to share your whole day with,
someone to wish on a star,
a friend is someone to laugh 'till your crying,
one with to walk very far,
A friend is someone who won't tell your secrets,
a friend is somebody fair,
a friend is someone to share a big sundae,
someone to French braid your hair,
a friend is someone to make you happy,
when your very blue,
a friend is someone who teaches you things like how to tie your shoe,
a friend is someone who's always there for whatever you may need,
a friend is someone who you love, a friend is a friend indeed.

Thank you so much, that is so nice! This is the first opportunity I've really gotten to read the entire thread (v. just the one ping), and I am loving it! And all of you have such fabulous home pages too.

p.s. It looks like several of you are in CA. I'm originally from the City of SF and my parents still live there. They are two of the only Conservatives left and the only house that flies the American flag in their entire area.
