Graphic by Billie
Heaven Scent
Dresses, and tresses, and skin, those are in,
As ways that a friendship can quickly begin.
The girls are seductive like flowers with scent,
And the guys are attracted, in fact, theyre hell-bent.
Since nothing could stop us from crossing the street,
Just why must you be so delectably sweet?
You know weve no standards. Were putty for you,
So why do you work quite as hard as you do?
Im puzzled by this, and another thing too,
What is it you see thats appealing to you?
Were brash, and too loud, and we do silly things,
And our word is no good, so you must have those rings.
Our hair falls out soon, and our manners may sicken,
And our trim boyish figures all too quickly do thicken.
What is it you like in a suitor so poor?
For whatever it is, I sure want to get more.

Hypocritical Request
Read: Matthew 16:1-4
A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. Matthew 16:4
Bible In One Year: Isaiah 37-38; Colossians 3
A group of religious leaders asked Jesus to give them a "sign from heaven" (Matthew 16:1). They had witnessed many of His miracles, but they had either minimized them or attributed them to Satan. The Pharisees were now demanding that Jesus perform another miracleperhaps like Joshua who commanded the sun and moon to stand still (Joshua 10:12-14), or like Elijah who called down fire from heaven (1 Kings 18:30-40). They did this to test Jesus.
Seeing their hypocrisy, Jesus said that while they could make weather predictions by looking at the sky, they were unable to read the much clearer "signs of the times" revealed in His ministry of teaching and healing (v.3).
Some people have told me they would believe in Jesus if He showed them miracles like those in the Gospels. But what makes them think they would react any differently than the religious leaders of Jesus' day?
Anyone who sincerely seeks the truth has all the evidence necessary for faith. The resurrection of Jesus is a historically credible event. The power of the risen Christ can be seen in many of His followers. The New Testament speaks to the mind and heart of every sincere, seeking soul. To ask for more is a hypocritical request. Herb Vander Lugt
Some say they want a miracle,
And then they will believe;
Yet God already sent His Son
The One they must receive. Hess
Demanding a miracle to believe in Jesus ignores the evidence of His resurrection.

My teeming fans have requested it...
A Good Sign
The early November will be fine,
To merrily to his fate consign,
That interloper with design,
On House of White and table fine.
Thus to his well-earned fate condign,
The soldier-traitor we assign,
To historys ash-heap thus confine,
And nevermore our sight malign.

You would have needed the gloves anyway.
You would not want to touch my nose without them...

A New World
by Alice Crowell Hoffman
Columbus found a new world
Because he dared to do
A thing that was unheard of-
A thing that was quite new.
Columbus found a new world
Because he made a start,
Instead of merely pond'ring o'er
The thoughts within his heart.
Columbus found a new world
Because he saw things through
And you can find your new world
Precisely that way, too.

Very good!!!
I have a dentist appointment today so I may not have time to search for a graphic.
Haven't I been keeping you busy enought? You still have time to write additional poems? :)
I bought two of your books today. I'm bringing them to DC with me. I would like one autographed to the troops and the other to me. :)
Have a great Columbus Day and a terrific week.

This is the first Superman I remember. George Reeves:
Dad was career Air Force and we moved from Panama back to Fort Worth, Texas in 1958. I was 4 years old and my brother was 2. The folks bought our first TV at Sears and the guy came out to get it set up. The very first TV show I ever watched was Superman.
"Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's ...... Superman!"
