LATIN 1: THE EASY WAY

I used to teach this subject. I use a method that's a little different than the standard, a method aimed at results, not tradition, and no need to learn grammar at the outset, when you've got enough new things to learn. If you learned by the traditional method you may find this radically different; but trust me.

Latin is an utterly execrable, worthless dead language. I studied it at school - not my decision, but now I have dropped it I will never ever under any circumstance have anything to do with it ever again for any reason.

A note to all members; don’t study Latin because you think there is some kind of prestige attached to it, because there really is none. I know that in the 19th century everyone studied it, but these days, all employers and all laypeople hold it in the greatest possible contempt. It is purest poison as far as any CV is concerned and will never ever come in handy in any context. It has NO relevance to anything at all and has NO useful application of any kind, as well as no merit or appealing qualities.

Nonetheless, this thread has certainly not matured and improved with age! The same can be said of Latin.

Since this ridiculous thread is still here, does anyone know how it is possible to get over the adverse effects of being forced to study this putrid subject? I am still suffering the long term impairment it causes.
