I'll see if I can find a good President Bush picture.

I looked around for you but I couldn't find a good picture of Bush either.
However, I think may have found the Governator. What do you think?

 ALLEY CAT
 Lyrics by Jack Harlan
 Music by Frank Bjorn
 A Mickey McBride Arrangement
 Bent Fabric & His Piano
 1962

 Refrain

He goes on the prowl each night
 Like an alley cat
 Looking for some new delight
 Like an alley cat

She can't trust him out of sight
 There's no doubt of that
He just don't know wrong from right
 Like an alley cat

 He meets them
 And loves them
 And leaves them
 Like that "Catsanova" does

That's no way to treat a pal
 She should tell him "Scat!"
Aren't you sorry for that gal
 And her alley cat?

 (instrumental interlude)

 He meets them
 And loves them
 And leaves them
 Like that "Catsanova" does

He don't know what faithful means
 There's no doubt of that
 He's too busy makin' scenes
 Like an alley cat

And that's the sad, sad tale of a lonesome quail
 And her alley cat.........

Graphic by MamaBear

Oh to soar about the sky,
And look down on the Earth.
To flit among the clouds aloft,
I dreamed of it from birth.
To dive and climb at my whim,
 To circle lazily.
For now I use an airplane,
 It matters not to me.
When my mortal life is done,
A bird Id like to be.
To soar upon my own wings,
 Would be Heaven to me.

Father, We ask that you continue to protect our military as you bless and comfort their families.
We also ask that you protect and bless those in Charley's path.
Please comfort and hold the people of Florida in your embrace.
We ask this in Jesus' Name. Amen

    Good morning, CG

I've been reading the hurricane thread this morning. I've turned TV on but have the volumne so low I can hardly hear it.

Are you and LE away from the expected path of this one? Stay safe!!

Far away from the path. We have all of Georgia and half of Alabama to buffer it. It is looking like it really did a number on Florida. I hope it doesn't regain strength before it comes back on land around North Carolina.

BTW it was 48 degrees at 7 am here this morning. That 22-30 degrees below norm.

    48 degrees? Brrrr.

It is 77 degrees at 6:15. The awful heat has left us for a few days. We may see 48 by November.

This is a weird cold front associated with Bonnie and Charley. Highly unsual for Aug.

WARNING: THESE ARE BAD JOKES -- JUST E-MAILED TO ME:

Two women are new arrivals at the Pearly Gates and are
comparing stories on how they died.

1st woman: "I froze to death."

2nd woman: "How horrible!"

1st woman: "It wasn't so bad. After I quit shaking
from the cold, I began to get warm and sleepy, and
finally died a peaceful death. What about you?"

2nd woman: "I died of a massive heart attack. I
suspected that my husband was cheating, so I came
home early to catch him in the act. But instead,
I found him all by himself in the den watching TV."

1st woman: "So what happened?"

2nd woman: "I was so sure there was another woman
there hiding that I started running all over the house
looking. I ran up into the attic and searched, and
down into the basement. Then I went through every
closet and checked under all the beds. I kept this up
until I had looked everywhere, and finally I became so
exhausted that I just keeled over with a heart attack
and died!"

1st woman: "Too bad you didn't look in the freezer.
We'd both still be alive today."

* * *

Mother Teresa finally arrives at the Pearly Gates and is met by Saint Peter.

"Mother Teresa, he says, it's so good to finally have you here with us. You
are so special for all the good works you have done down on earth and now
you will come to your reward. Let me first present you with this beautiful Halo."

So Saint Peter takes a small shining Halo and puts it over Mother Teresa's head.

As she is being led inside the gates, she notices Princess Diana is also inside
and the first thing she sees is a huge Halo over Princess Di's head.

Now Mother Teresa gets a bit annoyed at this and tells Saint Peter, "Wait a minute,
How is it that Princess Di has a bigger Halo than I do? I mean, I'm the one who
did all the good works my entire life and dedicated absolutely everything I've ever
had to the poor of the world, and all I get is this little Halo? I mean what gives here?"

Saint Peter looks over at Princess Di and then back at Mother Teresa and says,
"Oh, no, no, Mother Teresa, you have it all wrong."

"That's not a Halo over Princess DI's head. That's a steering wheel."

To: JustAmy; All
I was looking for dumb questions from reporters when I found this courtroom exchange involving a trial lawyer specializing in malpractice cases. (Think Edwards.)
Q: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
 A: No.
Q: Did you check for blood pressure?
 A: No.
Q: Did you check for breathing?
 A: No.
Q: So, it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
 A: No.
Q: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
A: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
Q: But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless?
A: It is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere nearby.
