Lance Armstrong may be stripped of his 6th Tour de France title. In a random check for banned substances, 3 substances were found in Lance Armstrong's hotel that are banned by the French...

LOLOL! I agree, 105 is quite hot. But not intolerable in low humidity (as we had so often in Texas) - here in Illinois, with the high humidity, 85 can be horrible.
To: JustAmy
Thank you Amy, it was my pleasure to do them for you.

Actually JK gets all the credit for this one. He actually made a special trip to Arlington National Cemetery and the Statue of Iwo Jima so he could get "photos for Amy's signs". :-)
Amy, I am so sorry I didn't get back here for tea when I said I would. Between the dentist visit, the pain meds, and trying to keep up with my Finest thread, I kind of lost control of the day. :-(
But, I'm here now. Am I overdressed?

Considering it was 106 today, I would say I am definitely overdressed. I should have shown up in a bathing suit. LOL!

After the tea, I went skinny dipping.

Grab your suit while I'll fix margaritas.

I think we should have another rally this week so we can show your wonderful signs again.
I love those signs; the old one was getting pretty ragged.

I wish I could say for certain that America would never vote for a dork like him but after 8 years of Clinton, I'm not sure any more.

I love those signs; the old one was getting pretty ragged. Yes, I think it is time to retire that old one. Besides being done in pieces it was falling apart. While we were in Washington D.C. I dragged Mama_Bear all over the area so that I could get photographs. She has a lot of patience when it comes to me wanting to capture the memories.

We all benefited from that patience.
Thank you, MamaBear!

I thought I'd share something from yesterday. If you've already seen this elsewhere, please overlook the double-PING. Enjoy!
Pulling off my gauntlets from a errantry most harsh,
soiled and stained from forging through a fetid swamp and marsh,
When firmer ground beneath my boots, feels good and strong and free,
I lift my tired eyes aloft, and what beauty do I see?
Arid vistas, rugged peaks and and rocks among the pines,
raising weary spirits up beyond the earth that binds,
the eagle's shivering cry comes down from lofty places born,
and my armor feels lighter than when I donned this morn,
Centered in my mind's eye here, the clouds dance o'er the peak,
this ever-changing tapestry of peace I sometimes seek,
for though ringing steel and clash and cries of battle stir my blood,
the silence and the comfort there, I'd also know, I would.

The Power Of Love
Read: Matthew 5:43-48
Love your enemies, . . . and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44
Bible In One Year: Psalms 84-86; Romans 12
Fyodor Dostoevsky tells the story of brothers Ivan and Alyosha Karamazov. Alyosha is a devoted follower of Jesus; Ivan is a skeptic.
As the story unfolds, Ivan meets his brother at a café. In an effort to undermine the faith of Alyosha, he recites a lengthy poem he has written about the Grand Inquisitor. In it the Inquisitor rails at Jesus for His decision to grant free will to human beings and thus bring so much pain and suffering into the world.
As the Grand Inquisitor finishes his argument, Ivan portrays Jesus as having no answer. Instead, Jesus walks up to the Inquisitor and kisses him. Ivan hopes Alyosha will see this as an irrational act. But as he finishes speaking, Alyosha, imitating Jesus, leans forward and kisses Ivan.
Alyosha's profound gesture completely changes the tenor of the scene, for it represents the triumph of love over doubt and skepticism. Love overrides every objection. No logical argument can overthrow it.
That's why Jesus calls us to love our enemies, and to do good to those who spitefully use us and persecute us (Matthew 5:44). Love, not rational argument, overcomes hatred. The goodness of God revealed in our love draws people to repentance. David Roper
Open my eyes, Lord, to people around me,
Help me to see them as You do above;
Give me the wisdom and strength to take action,
So I may show them Your wonderful love. K. De Haan
It's better to give others a piece of your heart than a piece of your mind.
