Guess Who?
There is surprising talent here, in many varied forms.
A welcome blessing in a place where every heart just warms.
When you first see a name you think now what is that about?
And then you get the point when someone puts the story out.
Sometimes it can sneak up on you and make you think a bit.
That thinking is the reason that your FRiend has chosen it.
My own name is a fluke I guess. Its really no big deal,
By now of course Ive seen some names that I would like to steal!
Ill have to stay the course for now, Im stuck with what I chose,
Too late to get a better one to post with, I suppose.
If you have yet to choose one I will give you some advice.
Keep your name real short or no one evers types it twice.

Frozen Snowball
Read: Hebrews 12:25-13:6
We are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken. Hebrews 12:28
Bible In One Year: Job 30-31; Acts 13:26-52
Baseball pitcher Tug McGraw had a wonderful philosophy of pitching. He called it hisfrozen snowball theory. If I come in to pitch with the bases loaded,Tug explained, and heavy hitter Willie Stargell is at bat, theres no reason I want to throw the ball. But eventually I have to pitch. So I remind myself that in a few billion years the earth will become a frozen snowball hurtling through space, and nobodys going to care what Willie Stargell did with the bases loaded!
The Bible tells us the earth will somedaymelt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up(2 Peter 3:10). Yet McGraws point is valid: We need to keep life in perspective. Most of the things we worry about have no eternal significance.
The writer of Hebrews was concerned about our perspective. Throughout the book, he keeps our eyes focused on heaven and away from earth. Unless our minds are on heaven, we will have little eternal influence on earth.
There will come a time when the earth will be shaken, and things that once seemed permanent will be gone (Hebrews 12:27). What you fear most today will be forgotten like yesterdays headlines. What really matters is what you do today that has a touch of eternity about it. Haddon Robinson
O for a heart that is willing to serve,
Laboring while it is day!
Nothing is lost that is done for the Lord,
He will reward and repay. Anon.
The one who lives for this life only will have eternity to regret it.

I am reminded of the story of an Astronomer who was giving a lecture:
"And so, in about five billion years, the Sun will expand, engulf the inner planets, and destroy the Earth..."
"WHAT? What did you day? How many years?" A voice shouted from the audience.
"The Sun will destroy the Earth in five Billion years." The Astronomer replied calmly.
"Oh!!! Thanks." Said a man, wiping his brow and resuming his seat."I thought you said five MILLION years....."

Typos are like graffiti, they deface the edifice that we construct. Some, however, are very amusing.
Coin and stamp collectors look for errors in the belief that it adds to the value.

A Dear Pets Farewell
Shed no tears for me my friend,
You made my life good.
You treated me lovingly,
As all good friends should.
You sheltered me and fed me,
For all of those years.
Please think about the good times,
And then dry those tears.
I know how youre missing me,
But my time was due.
Im happy and I like it here,
And I think of you.
Playing keeps me busy now,
So I need to run.
Well meet on the Rainbow Bridge,
And walk in the Sun.

More evidence that we at FRee Republic have gotten inured to typos and misspellings.
I shall never achieve perfection in this life -- I HAVE TO hope that I will get a second chance!!!
