He shows promise and should be encouraged.
Many youngsters of his generation tend to fill their minds with dark, despairing images. I like to think expressing yourself tends to help you focus of the positive aspects of life.
Some of the most entrancing and beautiful poetry has been penned by young people hardly older than he is.
I have the feeling it gave them confidence for the challenges they faced in life.

Haunting and beautiful!
"Life" makes me want to ask questions but not really wanting to know the answers.

OMG, Spookbrat.
Congratulations on the prospect of more children, but 5 hours does not sound like minor surgery to me!!! I hope you start feeling better soon.
We are looking forward to seeing you here more often during the summer months. We've missed you!!

"Crabbit Old Women" reminds me of Will Carlton's, "Over the Hill to the Poorhouse."

I'm happy that he had a teacher who has encouraged him. I read a couple of other poems he wrote but he did not give me a copy of them.
I think he was encouraged when I asked if I could have a copy to post.

Howdy ! :^D Everything is going well here in North Central Texas.
Looks like Summer is about to set in now. Been warm and humid the last couple of days.
My wife is in Shreveport. I drove her down last Sunday and came back on the bus. I left her car there so she can have it while she's there.
She is helping a lady out for a month. The lady had a baby Thursday (day before yesterday) and my wife is playing nursemaid for a month.
I am going down to my Dad's this morning. I was planning to take him out for a Father's Day lunch, but he called yesterday and said he had an invite to go to his brother's and SIL's in Tyler for a fish dinner. So we're going there instead of a buffet place.
Hope you're feeling better soon, Miss Spooky ! :^D

"Haunting and beautiful!"
I agree .... when CG sent me the poem and asked if it was too dark, I knew it should be posted.
I was not sure what type of image to start searching for. I asked MamaBear's advice and she made a beautiful Welcome Graphic.

I have not read Will Carlton's, "Over the Hill to the Poorhouse."
When I read Crabbit Old Woman, it made me wonder what the aged think about as they seem to slip in and out of the present. I hope they are reliving happy times.

I've heard people talk about a bright white light. But I and everyone I have personally spoken with discribe more of a soft but brilliant pale blue glow. Very much like the graphic Mama_bear came up with.
It makes me wonder.

That graphic is lovely. So peaceful ... the light after the storm. I think it is very fitting for your poem.

No secrets, just didn't want to write it all! I like to frame a thought and let the reader fill in the picture. If you have questions I'll try to answer them.

Prayers offered for a relief from the pain, Spooky.
We've been getting our heatwave over early this year. It's supposed to cool down over the weekend. Everyone is home on Summer Break now and my mom and other two sisters are coming in today so all the kids will be together for the first time in about 6 years. Should be an interesting week.
