I've never heard of a Klyben Cat, so I did a Google search. They are EVERYWHERE! LOL

That mousie song is hilarious. "Nibble they tiny feet"! LOL!

I even managed to find your mug in Google. :-)

If you turn this upside down, you'll see that it resembles a map of the United States.

Laura Earl makes up for my cranky old manness.

That's usually how it works...

I love "whole kernel corn" but I hate creamed corn.

I'll eat lima beans, but I don't eat succotash.

Some ways, I'm still eight years old.

Yeah I went to a map and flipped it in my head. Darwin is in upsidedown Texas.

You're weird.

I love corn in any way shape or form.......and I've got both corn and limas growing in the garden.

We're going to put another 5 or so rows of corn in this weekend....we're staggering the plantings so we don't have it all at once. We put in 5 rows, 40 feet each, about 10 days ago.

I may have been born and raised in NYC - but I'm a suthren gal at heart!!!!

I'm not good with graphics but this is what I did. Maybe Lori or Billie can work on it.

Aussie -- U.S. See?

Half a day ahead in time, and halfway through tomorrow,
There is a place beloved of our old west’s place of sorrow.
Perhaps not Rattlers or stampedes, nor hostile indian,
But snaggy little torments that are just Australian.

Who would have thought that bunnies could become a nasty pest,
But there they are in millions as a most unwelcome guest.
And who hired that crazy weatherperson when the circus was in town?
That when we are dripping puddles they see snowflakes drifting down.

I say the place is upside down. We all knew that from the start,
But I can at least explain it with a little bit of art.
Just turn that map the right way up, it takes a little fuss,
But then you’ll recognize the place because it looks like us.

You’ll note that things get warmer as you move down to the bottom,
And all that California stuff, it’s clear that Queensland now has got ‘em.
You’ll see the Lakes are in the right place after all,
And Tasmania’s like New England where we see the leaves in Fall.

There’s a finger just like Florida, complete with lovely keys,
And the Rio Grande is really grand, the Pacific if you please!
There is a place like Texas where it comes down to the coast,
With a sturdy bit of railroad and a place for Darwin’s ghost.

Lake Disappointment marks the spot where Bonneville once lay,
Before it just curled up and died of too much sun one ancient day.
For better understanding flip around the map you know,
And you’ll have a way of knowing just where everything should go.

Well, take good care of it. Apparently it is rare. I did a search and the only Kliban "Mouserschmidt" anything that I could find was a "rare Mouserschmidt sweatshirt" that was being auctioned off (and the page is no long viewable). No Mouserschmidt mugs to be found anywhere...not even in eBay. Lots of other Kliban Cat things on eBay though.

I just printed out the above map, and compared it to my globe.

The resemblance is even more striking than I had pictured.

Houston corresponds to Darwin, Australia.

Australia is still a thousand miles closer to the equator than we are. Their Outback is much like the worst parts of our western desert country.

'Bama appears to correspond to the area around the Flinders river, and there's a town called Dobbyn near there.

I was also confused about the position of Queensland. Jacqui had said they had a great climate, so I was thinking California.

Kinda fun to note the similarities.

Weird.
Search for alternate spellings as well, like Mouserscmitt, mouserschmitt and such.

I'll be keeping it in it's packing very carefully then.
