"That" is an invention of my fertile and perfervid imagination. Jack London fans will recognize the source of the title.
A bit of irony, flavored with a recycled joke. All the rest comes out of a box of "Vocabulary Helper."

Not a closet liberal...just a shrewed conservative who got me to pop for the DOM:)

Well, I suppose some sort of congratulations are due ME.
I've been down in my shop for the last 2 hours re-wiring my friend's electric 2 wheel scooter.
I've spent in the neighbourhood of 25-30 hours on this thing, not including the 4 or 5 hours on the web finding a new motor controller.
I just hooked up the primary wiring for the motor control circuitry (12 volts to control 36 volts).
I heard a slight *POP*, and all the magic smoke floated out.
I think I'm just going to sit here for a while and have a few more libations until I'm no longer so angry. I'm actually ready to throw something. Are there any rabid anti-smokers nearby? I need something to beat on.

Not at this site. If it makes you feel any better. I stepped on the brakes of my car, this morning, heard a POP and I had no power brakes...99 Cadillac Seville STS...any suggestions? aside from spending a grand to fix it??:)
To: international american
Does it have an electric pump for brake assist, or standard vacuum boost? If electric, replace the fuse. If Vacuum, replace the hoses and one-way check valve.

Hey, com'on. I just eliminated a whole bunch of 'em.
Maybe you can find the guy who didn't make the flight?
I wouldn't want to advise about power brakes, that's just too "Spider Robinson"ish for me, but the electric scooter -- maybe you need a brute force technique, like using starter relays to series up the voltage to the motor, instead of electronic controls, which have to be HEFTY, (and filled with heavy-duty magic smoke).

The controller I bought is supposed to be good up to 48 volts and 15 amps.
I didn't even have the 36 volts hooked up yet, I was going to get the control circuit up and running first, but *POOF* happened.

Heavy duty relays would kind of lose the point of the scooter, as 3 speeds plus off that way would be considerably heavier than the 3 1/2 ounce electronic control.
Weight is the enemy here, as it has a range of only 20 miles as it is. 20 MPH top speed, too.
