Stephen A. Smith Apologizes
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 30 August 2026 | John Semmens

Posted on 09/01/2026 10:00:52 AM PDT by John Semmens

Sports analyst Stephen A. Smith apologized for condemning NBA basketball player Kyrie Irving for refusing to get the covid vaccine during the pandemic, saying "like most people, I thought Dr. Fauci and President Biden were looking out for the American people. All the major media were saying that the vaccines were safe and effective and that folks who didn't get vaccinated were endangering the health of others for resisting the pressure to get vaccinated. Now I realize that we were all wrong."

"When Dr. Fauci testified in Congress last month I expected him to apologize for his mistakes during the pandemic," Smith said. "But he didn't. He refused to say anything for fear he would incriminate himself. Kyrie Irving was vilified and punished by the NBA. He was forced to sit out games and forfeit part of his salary. The important point is we can't condemn Kyrie and those who were a bit suspicious back then because it turns out they were right and should be recognized for having the courage to withstand the pressure to conform."

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky) expressed appreciation for "Smith's candor. The wrong he feels he committed against Mr. Irving was small compared to the wrongs Dr. Fauci committed against the people of America. Dr. Fauci should've admitted it was a mistake to fund dangerous bio-weapon research in China, acknowledged that his advice during the pandemic was mostly wrong, asked for forgiveness, and volunteered to help our government devise safeguards so a man-made epidemic never happens again. To his everlasting shame, he did none of these things."

In related news, the World Health Organization (WHO) now asserts that "health authorities do not have to have evidence of illness in order to declare a pandemic is underway and to take whatever remedial actions are deemed justified. This includes lockdowns, business and school closures, masking and distancing mandates, travel restrictions, and vaccination requirements." Apparently, the self-proclaimed scientific experts have learned nothing useful for promoting a healthier response than what we saw during the covid pandemic.

All the major media were saying that the vaccines were safe and effective and that folks who didn't get vaccinated were endangering the health of others for resisting the pressure to get vaccinated. Now I realize that we were all wrong.

What he did was prove that he's a credulous, dangerous moron, like about 70% of the population. Easily manipulated due to his stupidity, ignorance, fearfulness, and selfishness. Fools like him (again, at least 70% of the population) are a threat to any and all freedom-loving people.

It’s always been identified before as satire, in the headline, but not now. I wonder what happened to change that?

He’s still an A-hole.

You should never, ever, force anyone to do anything, they don’t want with their body, period.

“Informed consent” has always been the gold standard in health care. ALWAYS!!!

EVERYTIME that principal has been violated in history, 100% of the time, people were doing the wrong thing. No exception.

Great that he know has some epiphany and wants to feel good about himself or be on the winning side of an argument in the public forum.

I don’t buy it. He’s still just an A-hole and if tomorrow the angry, scared and envious masses want to violate someone else’s rights, I’m sure he would jump on that bandwagon too, once 51% agree with that and someone in an authority position tell him it’s “for the greater good.”

Covid had alarm bells ringing and red lights flashing like a nuclear power plant in a full meltdown right from the get go.

The parallel to movies (that’s it from bats), the hype and OBVIOUS over blown BS (20% mortality rate reported initially- yeah sure, you’d be seeing bodies in streets!), the obvious political aspects to it (attack Trump, as Pelosi, Shumer, etc did), the special exceptions for vaccines that had not gone through all the proper testing... When bandwagon, appeals emotions (fear) to authority and force (lose your job) are used as a arguments you should really think twice if it’s logic that is doing the talking.

Covid smelled like poop right from the beginning and I do not think most people were concerned with the truth. They were concerned with compliance and conformity. It was about what team are you on, what was fashionable to say and repeated often, not if your argument made any sense.

Sorry if it’s offensive, but for those that went along with this, you should really review what the basic logical fallaicies are, how a logical argument is constructed, what correlation and causality are and how they relate. This NEVER made sense, and if you had thought about some of the ridiculous things that were floated and done (hair dressers arrested after being raided by SWAT teams because they were still operating), or the idiot masks that CANNOT work (the virus is an order of magnitude smaller than what a mask can filter), etc.

It was clown show dumb. A huge exercise in mass hysteria and how people in large masses become STUPID.

If you were on the train to stupidville, ask yourself where the errors in your thinking were? Why did you fall for it?

Great start. Now do climate change, systemic racism, same-sex attraction disorder, ADD/ADHD, the great replacement and the whole post WW2 narrative.

The official government experts have been wrong (lying) about all of it.

In the 20+ years I’ve been writing Semi-News/Semi-Satire I have covered everything on your list except ADD/ADHD on many different occasions-—AND will most likely deal with them again going forward.

That folks who didn't get vaccinated were endangering the health of others for resisting the pressure to get vaccinated.

That alone was enough to see the lie. How could a vaccination make you more susceptible to unvaccinated people?

“You should never, ever, force anyone to do anything, they don’t want with their body, period.”

This statement needs to be re-worded. As worded it means a pregnant mom should not be forced to carry her baby.

A fire fighter or soldier should not be forced to endanger his life to save the lives of hundreds.

A protestor standing in the way of the firefighter should not be forced to move so the firefighter can do his job.

The biggest red flag to me was the Mexican border.

In a real pandemic that border would be sealed tight—even if it took a million troops to do it.

It never happened.
