Democrats are constantly telling us how great public schools are and how much we must value school teachers. So what happens when a Democrat-controlled city has almost two dozen schools with zero students performing at grade level?
FOX 45 News in Baltimore reports:
23 Baltimore schools have zero students proficient in math, per state test results
Baltimore City is facing a devastating reality as the latest round of state test scores are released.
Project Baltimore analyzed the results and found a shocking number of Baltimore City schools where not a single student is doing math at grade level.
“We’re not living up to our potential,” said Jovani Patterson, a Baltimore resident who made headlines in January 2022, when he filed a lawsuit against Baltimore City Schools. The suit claims the district is failing to educate students and, in the process, misusing taxpayer funds.

I’ll never understand why majority of blacks vote Dim.
Good, since Math is racist.
You’re overthinking it.
Lurning stuff be racist know I mean???
It doesn’t add up, does it?
Is that the fault of the teachers or students?
Just need more money. Yea, that’ll work this time.
And this is why Teachers Unions need to be disbanded and pay for teachers is based on performance. Your students do well, your performance incentives kick in. With no metrics, there is no accountability.
I wonder if there are any records of the “scores” from the “bad old days” of segregation that could be compared with current “scores”.
May not be “testing” was so ubiquitous back then.
Being a smart black student in school is quite often the kiss of death for the student. The black community by and large are killing themselves. They refuse to educate themselves out of their misery. So, what’s left is physical intimidation and crime.
So the schools have finally achieved their goal, at least in math!
I would like to see the results of the testing on the Baltimore private schools. How did the Catholic Schools fair?
Or the parents?
More money to the teachers unions will fix that.
Exactly right.
The current system is really based on disincentives. If your school is successful, then government is less likely to increase the budget — they’ll spend money on potholes or crimes or whatever. But if your schools are awful, the government is more likely to throw money at that problem. Money! Money! Money! It’s really no surprise that schools are awful. That’s how you get paid more.
“ Just need more money. Yea, that’ll work this time.”

ABSOLUTELY. Baltimore City schools are only funded $21,600 per student. How can the schools possibly function at that low level of cash. Double (or triple) that funding and the students will become high performers. /sarc
This problem can be fixed overnight by making it a Felony for ANY Public Employee to send their children to any school other than the Public School in their neighborhood.
We can all look at the overall performance of blacks and say that they don’t do as well as whites academically. But most of us, certainly myself, have worked with very smart and competent blacks, so there are certainly some, almost certainly a significant percentage of blacks capable of holding their ground academically.
So given the above, there should certainly be SOME blacks that can meet our already dumbed-down math standards, even in Baltimore. So that leads to one conclusion - that the public schools are INTENTIONALLY not teaching math to black students.
And that leads to the next question: Are they bothering to teach math to the white students, in other schools? Logical answer is no, considering that the public schools HATE white achievement.
Which leads to the final question: Why do white parents continue to send their kids to these horrific institutions? Answer: Because they’re FREE, and that’s all that matters!!!
