And this is why Teachers Unions need to be disbanded and pay for teachers is based on performance. Your students do well, your performance incentives kick in. With no metrics, there is no accountability.

Exactly right.

The current system is really based on disincentives. If your school is successful, then government is less likely to increase the budget — they’ll spend money on potholes or crimes or whatever. But if your schools are awful, the government is more likely to throw money at that problem. Money! Money! Money! It’s really no surprise that schools are awful. That’s how you get paid more.

Teachers have no control whatsoever upon the performance of the students. When the students don't want to be educated and their parents take their side, there is absolutely nothing even the very best teacher can do about it.

I think it makes more sense to drop compulsory education and then apply the money and effort only toward those who want to learn. Our society will collapse soon. It would be best to save the willing.
