I don’t understand why there are no lawsuits — the Board of Directors at these companies have a fiduciary responsibility to maximize profits. Caring about the Earth is actually irresponsible within that context. They are screwing their shareholders over so that they can look good at the next wine and cheese party.

The left is more vocal on this issue and pushes it hard and most normal people just trying to live their lives(kids, work etc) don’t pay attention and push back

The beauty of ESG ratings is that they can cut both ways. Leftists can decide to boycott companies based on low ESG scores, but the right can just as easily decide to boycott companies based on high ESG scores.
The more the left pokes Elon, the more he wakes up to how nonsensical they are.

He’s been talking about this on TV lately. ESG is very dangerous.
Just yet another example that the left destroys everything it touches. For the ESG index to exclude THE BEV company is like the energy index excluding Exxon-Mobile, or the pharma index excluding Pfizer. These stocks are the some of the leading indicators of where the industries are going, and to exclude them really renders your index pointless.
He’s the only billionaire with the cajones to challenge the nonsense, watch them go after him now.
ESG is not based on profits. It’s primary goal is to promote wokism in corporations.
In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party.
But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.

Well, yes. I would say that ESG doesn’t give a fig for profits. Which is why adopting ESG hurt the company’s profits. It is irresponsible for corporate leadership to be woke. They should be sued for not focusing on their fiduciary responsibility.
