New polling indicates that more than a quarter of Americans have soured on the Union itself, and support dividing the nation into sovereign regional unions.
29% of Americans support the notion of their own region seceding from the Union and becoming a sovereign country. Polling on the matter conducted by Bright Line Watch, a neoliberal organization, suggests that support for secessionist ideas has increased considerably in the last decade, with polling in 2014 indicating that just under 24% of Americans supported regional secession.

The problem is the cities—everywhere.
The only split that makes sense would be to let them become a leftist archipelago.
And it came straight out of a Scientific American, Forbes, etc. 2018 article(s).
Hype or not.
Shocking? Yeah, about as ‘shocking’ that nearly a third of Americans are not sure that the Earth is round.

Such people are stupid.
If the earth were flat, cats would have knocked everything off the edge by now.
Ain’t gonna happen. This amounts to a blog.
Does anyone actually know someone who believes the Earth is flat?
This just sounds like some sort of disinformation astro-turfing by the elites to discredit the plebes.
Civil wars rarely happen in a vacuum. They almost also involve, often are caused by, and always made worse by - outside actors.
The collapse of the Soviet Union would be the most analogous and potential BEST outcome of such a scenario in the USA, and even then - it became 15 countries, lost half its economic output, has been fighting constant wars since, and has NATO and China on its borders.
I don’t think the majority of Americans have 10% of the resilience of the Russian people either.

Well, the reality is we’re not really a union anymore. Lots of states and regions have very little in common with each another, and its not solely due to the red/blue ideological divide.
The United States has become an oxymoron.
All the 29% means that this country has a LONG WAY TO GO to allow at least some people to have their freedom restored.
The Republic of Texas will welcome other states who view Freedom and Liberty as being essential, to join us.

Texas had better hurry up with its independence because liberals are hell bent on turning the state blue by opening the floodgates with illegal immigrants. The clock is ticking.
Civil Wars are only possible when the elites of different regions have irreconcilable differences.
In the United States the elites are united in their effort to rip off and crush average folks—they have nothing to fight about...
Well, try try again until you succeed(secede?). Nobody likes a quitter.
(Florida, Alabama, Louisiana and Texas)<[> As long as we get all the US Marines too, then we would definitely pursue a viable sovereignty.

Good one. :)
The talk of Texas secession has chilled.
Only 29% ?
Does any type search engine work for you all. wtflmao.

The cities are filled with Takers who can outvote the Makers. That’s a fundamental flaw in our heretofore reasonably well functioning representative republic. We have now morphed into a dysfunctional kleptocracy and there’s no going back.
As a Texan, I can say; rest assured. We are well aware of what the Commies are attempting to do.
The world under heaven, after a long period of division, tends to unite; after a long period of union, tends to divide. This has been so since antiquity.
--Luo Guanzhong, Romance of the Three Kingdoms (China, 14th century)
This is a number that will grow with our current divide in the nation.
Northern California would love to separate from Southern California. Eastern Washington and Eastern Oregon would love to jettison the I-5 corridor. Upstate New York and much of Illinois would like to be on their own. The list goes on...
It is a simple fact of human nature that big city elites will never understand “rural America” or the desires of rural Americans. It is not just regulatory stuff either.... the separation on social and educational issues is very wide.
Biden just won the presidency with less than 25% of all the counties in America. What does that tell us?
