Michigan State Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey was caught on camera telling officials from the Hillsdale County Republican Party that the Capitol takeover was “staged” and a “hoax.”
In the footage, which is over an hour long, Shirkey also says that Mitch McConnell “was part of it… They wanted to have a mess” so that they could impeach Donald Trump.
The video was posted on YouTube by Hillsdale County Republican Party Secretary Jon Smith, who is upset with Shirkey for repeatedly caving to Democrats.
During the conversation, Shirkey says that the January 6 protest “wasn’t Trump people.”
“That’s been a hoax from day one, that was all pre-arranged,” Shirkey adds, asserting that the people “went in on separate buses, that was all arranged by somebody that was funding everyone.”

Yes. That was weird about witnesses. First Democrats and Republicans were all for it, then the next thing you know they were against it.
I think you’re right. Both parties looked at the witness list and realized it wouldn’t be good for any of them.

In my opinion, this man has no insider information. He was simply stating what he believes to be true and I’m sure everyone of us has stated something very similar. Unfortunately, this is anything but a smoking gun.

It’s stunnng how few remember the organized GOVERNMENT-led mass murders of the last century (not to mention those before it). People act like it’s a crazy conspiracy theory to imagine it happening today.
Three basic issues with the witness list: (1) 300-plus folks means this hearing would have gone to the end of March (I don’t think any of them wanted that). (2) All witnesses would be under oath, and it just opens up a big mess later if they say something that wasn’t true. (3) Eventually, by the end....a clear picture of the 6th would emerge, and lack of leadership from Pelosi/Schumer/McConnell would have obvious.

I only have it as 3rd hand information, but heard from someone who was there that things at the protest were cool until some dodgy looking people showed up in some buses around midday.
