Many FReepers have knowledge to share about improving and maintaining health and would like to share it and learn from others; and others may not know much yet but want to learn. Some of us don't have much money for good insurance or doctors, some want to try other methods besides prescription meds, and some have experience in treating and solving health problems.
More and more "regular" doctors have accepted treatment methods such as the benefits of acupuncture, massage for many conditions, better diet, use of herbs and so on. There are limits, and often side effects, to some standard medical efforts.
My field is Ayurvedic herbalism and related measures, and have a lot of information I can post when I have time. I have seen herbs and sometimes dietary changes help people (including myself) with issues such as rheumatoid arthritis, high BP, gallstones, kidneystones, repeated boils, UTIs, prostate problems, insomnia, allergies, urinary incontinence, and many more. I hope to learn a lot from others with their knowledge and experience.
There are many "old fashioned" home care methods that were in common use a few generations ago that actually work and are cheap, such as castor oil packs, fomentations using alternating hot and cold water, and the like, which are easy to do. I am sure there is a lot of knowledge here on Free Republic that can be shared.
I would like this thread to stay civil without distruption, so my request is that people who think natural health methods are bunkum, make your own thread.
Please stay in touch with our mutual friend
love and prayers for you LJ. Praying you get a good report on the test. Take care
This is an interesting article about apricot seeds to treat cancer. https://deeprootsathome.com/apricot-pits-the-amazing-seed-with-life-saving-poison/
Essiac Tea for cancer
This is a link to information about the tea: https://essiac.com/the-original-essiac/hail-rene-caisse/
and this is a link to the recipe

Thanks for this suggestion muggs. I am also ordering a capsule making machine as an alternative to mixing herbs with water.
Prayers sent for a good report as well LJ.
I just got the test results back - no cancer cells detected in saamples, from what it appears to me trying to read the test results. I have phone consultation with doc on Wed to learn more.
(thinden: Yes, thanks for reminding me, I will email her.)
(nclaurel - my naturopath doc gave me Red Root tincture, it is for lymphatic congestion, since 2 lymph nodes had cancer in them. That is something that may be good for cancer in general or any lymph system irregularities. I MUST post more on this thread! Will find links to Red Root Tincture, it’s easier to take in that form than tea, probably tastes horrid.)
Herb Pharm products are very high quality. I see recommendations of using a lot of it, my doc said 10 drops once a day, five days a week. IOW, take two days off a week. Seems to be pretty strong stuff.

Info on its use, of course lots out there, but not all is useful:
Sounds like good news. Will keep you in my prayers.
We should pray for everyone, really!
so good to hear your report. And yes, we should pray for all affected by this terrible disease.
I ran across this today:
“Could Future Leukemia Treatments Be Based on Dandelion? Dandelion root tea gained considerable fame back in 2012 when several leukemia patients in Canada started using it to slow their cancer. One patient even went into remission after being given a terminal diagnosis. When tested in the lab, dandelion root extract was indeed found to be highly toxic to leukemia cells (CMML), killing up to 96% of them in a matter of hours. So Canadian researchers started to test dandelion root tea in properly controlled clinical trials in 2015but these are not complete yet. In the meantime, a fascinating new case study of an American man with leukemia (CMML) has been published in the Case Reports in Hematology journal linked below. This patient used papaya leaf and dandelion root extracts to successfully stabilize his cancer for eight years (and counting). Andin the stunning words of the researchers themselvesthe patients bone marrow blast counts vastly improved during this time. Take note that this man used multiple other supplements such as maitake mushrooms (a full list is found in the paper) so we dont know if it was the dandelion or the combination of many things. But this extraordinary result speaks volumes to the power of natural medicine. We will know much more when the clinical trials in Canada are complete. Watch this space.”

I have been taking massive amounts of herbs since the surgery and will post about them and other herbs that are considered helpful to prevent or curb cancer, as well as many other herbs.
I take at least 5 tablespoons of powdered herbs a day, plus some liquid extracts. Not yummy...
I have really neglected this thread and want to add a lot more to it.
Since the Chinese virus is really in the news, and I mentioned I make a home made hand/thing sanitizer and was asked the recipe, here it is.
Home Made Neem Hand/Thing Sanitizer
I’ve made it for years and use it exclusively as hand/thing santizer and also for house cleaning.
This recipe uses 2 cups of dried neem leaves. If anyone lives in a tropical area (FL/HI) neem trees grow very fast and easily. I would LOVE to have one!
Soak 2 cups packed dried neem leaves in 1 gallon water overnigbht.
Bring almost to boil next day, pot covered, then let sit until room temperature.
Strain out the leaves into a large pot or bowl. I use a very large whisk that I only use for herbal stuff to mix all the ingredient together. I have modifed this recipe over time, and used various kinds of essential oils. All citirus EOs are very powerful.
Add:
3 cups white vinegar
1-3 squirts natural non-fragranced dish soap (small sqirts, not precise number as bottles differ)
4 T. grain alcohol if desired - I don’t always add, helps preserve it, would us if I don’t have the following:
2 t. citric acid dissolved in a small amount of hot water
2 T. of varied EOs - I use a blend of Orange, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime and also Eucalyptus, sometimes smaller amounts of Tea Tree, Thyme, Cinnamon or Oregano
You can use 3 T. of EOs.
If you can get vegetable glycerine, 1-2T, in helps disperse the EOs I think. Not necessary.
Whisk very well and store in the jugs white vinegar or dish soap comes in (dish soap containers rinse out well first).
Makes about 1 1/2 gallons of concentrate. For hand sanitizer I dilute 1/4 or 1/5, for household cleaning I use a bit stronger, in toilet bowl, sinks, etc.
Really interesting about dandelion root and leukemia.
Thank you for the link to this thread. :-)
Hi LJ-
With the Chinese virus and also flu season in full swing what supplements would you recommend using?
What about to break up mucous?
Anything over the counter?
Thanks in advance!
This is a good article about how to prepare for coronavirus
https://deeprootsathome.com/4-natural-science-backed-ways-to-be-prepared-for-coronavirus-pandemic/
Thank you for the recipe for the had sanitizer
Thank you for that, I will read.
I seriously need to post some info on this thread - I mean need to for my own mental well being!
The essential oils in the hand sanitizer can vary, as pretty much all EOs have anti-microbial action; I don’t use Oregano EO as I don’t use it; there are others that are potent and I can’t stand the smell of the Oregano EO. I use small amounts of Thyme and Tea Tree often, and all citrus EOs are strongly anti-microbial.
For steam inhalations the trees are better - Eucalyptus, Fir, Spruce, Pine, Birch (or Wintergreen, they’re very similar), Peppermint, Basil, a little Thyme/Tea Tree - that’s pretty much my “Breathe Well” mix, it’s about 1/2 Euc. I made many ounces of it recently, sent of two bottles to clients and kept a lot for myself. I use it daily as I have asthma.
I want to put my recipes for soothing skin balm - for dry, cracked or irritated skin, and “dragon balm” - for pain, congestion, headaches. And rosewater and glycerine, and a bunch more.
I’m becoming more and more interested in natural methods of treating disorders. I’m late to the game, so lots of catching up to do. I know you have a lot of wisdom and education about the subject, so please share when you can. I understand your challenges, and pray you’re healing and feeling better.
You mention clients. Do you have a website? Do you have websites that you recommend?
The link I provided is a blog I’ve followed for a year or so, and she is a retired nurse. She brings some good information. Another blog I follow is https://joybileefarm.com/
I also read this blog sometimes https://www.mercola.com/
I am not a real professional, have no website, just make stuff and studied on my own for years, and practiced on anyone who would hold stil... I have seen wonders happen with herbs, dietary changes etc.
I will check joybilee. I’m not ultra fond of Mercola as he is sometimes right and sometimes goes off to strange tangents. I primary learn from books whose authors I trust.
I will be back later today to the thread. I LOVE questions.
