Team Trump Preparing “Political Punch to the Face” Against Cruz Campaign?
Team Trump Preparing “Political Punch to the Face” Against Cruz Campaign? ^ | April 10, 2016 | DC Whispers

Posted on 04/10/2016 10:52:56 AM PDT by Art in Idaho

Will these whispers turn to shouts?

The word behind the word is that Paul Manafort is already earning his keep BIG TIME as he moves to deliver a stunning blow to the Cruz campaign a source describes as a potential “punch to the face” that involves the number 172.

Here is a brief summary of what will simply be called the “172 Plan” :

**Talks are ongoing and more numerous between Team Trump and a second party over the last 48-hours.

**If these talks lead to an agreement, it will be a game-changer in the 2016 Republican nomination process.

**Manafort is said to be personally leading the negotiations with Donald Trump’s full approval. In fact, it’s believed Manafort was the first to suggest this scenario last month but did so then more as an observer of the campaign. Now he is a top-ranking operative/adviser for Team Trump.

**This ongoing negotiation has sent the Cruz campaign scrambling to block further negotiation from materializing and getting a considerable assist from powerful GOP forces.

I don't think it ties in at all with any "I 72" form. I saw the Interstate highway sign at the DC Whispers posting, and it was I 172 <-- linkee.

I think the editor of the DC Whispers piece just used that for decoration, it has no significance.

“Trump can’t make America great AGAIN since he has no idea why it was great in the first place.”

Oh, I see, a multi billionaire who built his real estate empire within our capitalistic system, has no idea how that just happened, besides a lot of hard work on his part. Trump is a patriot and a nationalist. That’s good enough for me. That and the fact that he is a businessman, and not another slimeball lawyer like Cruz.

“172 delegates is the number of delegates that are in play on April 26th.”
________________________________________________________________________

Yes, and the April 26th states (CT, PA, RI, DE, MD) are all Eastern/Northeastern which should be in Trump’s wheelhouse. So, he should do very well on the 26th, after a good NY results next Tuesday. This is likely the “punch in the face”, winning those states and holding onto the delegates!

Rubio has 171 delegates according to RCP and has hinted at support for Cruz. It would not be surprise for Trump to reach out to either Rubio or Kasich if his falls short of 1,237, which is possible.

IMHO, he would be better aligned with Kasich, who is a “moderate” and very popular in Ohio, a must win state! Kasich would also help Trump soften some of the edges with women voters. Rubio could not carry Florida, so I’m not sure he has as much leverage...and at the end he may not have more delegates than Kasich...

The best thing Trump could do would be to bury the hatchet with Cruz, bring him on as VP, and market the Trump-Cruz tag-team that will clean up the shit-stalls in Washington and totally restructure the GOPe...together, they would totally control the convention, there would be no GOPe elite games with the nomination, no riots, just a consolidation of the anti-establishment fervor sweeping the country...

It’s well documented that LBJ and JFK could not stand each other...politics makes for strange bed-fellows, as they say!

1172 is also a form to correct a loan application.

Still brainstorming.

“The guy who has been a hard right conservative his entire life.”

Yeah, good old pro amnesty for illegals until quite recently, pro TPP trade deal, pro gay until just recently and had 2 gay big money donors, and is a slimy, underhanded, deceptive lawyer; that hard right conservative?

Who is so desperate to win the Presidency that he tries to steal delegates and buddies up to the RINO GOPe and is now working in tandem with them;that true conservative? What a joke. You live in lalaland.

“an overall decent, patriotic American who loves his country and only wants to roll up his sleeves and work tirelessly for the People to make America great again.”

Also, Trump has stated he is not going to take a Presidential salary. He just wants to fix the country, for no pay. Trump wants to give back to his country for the wonderful opportunity he was given in this great land, to succeed. He wants everyone to succeed.

I am about a millimeter close to refusing to vote for Trump in November, and about that close to being zotted.

Wow, hadn't heard that. He should incorporate that in his ads in the general.

“They are pledged to him for the first or first and second ballot and that’s it.”

According to FL rules, delegates are pledged through 3 ballots, not 1 or 2.

I personally prefer Rubio to Kasich. The question is who would help Trump more between the two?

It's really a matter of the ladies. Both of those candidates are much more acceptable to Republican women and represent key states that a Republican must win to gain the Presidency. Trump rehabilitating Rubio with an apology for making it personal, might go a long way with some women. It is certainly worth 490 apologies to turn around the country, if one loves the country enough.

I have to think Rubio would be a much better fit. He's young to counter Trump's age whereas Kasich looks and acts older than Trump. I think Rubio would help tremendously in states like TX and CA where there's large swaths of Hispanics.

But it might be a moot issue. Apparently the 172 is I-72 and refers to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) forms. See article below and note following:

Cruz's ballot eligibility is also being challenged in California, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon, South Dakota, and Washington.

Ted Cruz Risks Primary Disqualification in New Jersey, Other Late-Primary States, Charges Professor Victor Williams

Though none of us know if Trump has anything to do with this and no one is sure what the 172 or I72 bit is so I guess we wait.

So be it. If I can’t express myself freely, what is the point of being here? I could see the rabid support for Trump if he hadn’t supported every rotten Marxist throughout the decades, but he has.

He stole the title from William Simon.

We’d all be delighted to have the mess Jimmy Carter created by 1980.

I read somewhere months ago that Rubio was in “win or out” mode from the start. Win the presidency, maybe veep, or he was going to abandon politics and use his connections to make real money, like as a lobbyist or such.
I have no idea but by DC power broker standards he certainly is not rich. Rather poor as a matter of fact.
