Team Trump Preparing “Political Punch to the Face” Against Cruz Campaign?
Team Trump Preparing “Political Punch to the Face” Against Cruz Campaign? ^ | April 10, 2016 | DC Whispers

Posted on 04/10/2016 10:52:56 AM PDT by Art in Idaho

Will these whispers turn to shouts?

The word behind the word is that Paul Manafort is already earning his keep BIG TIME as he moves to deliver a stunning blow to the Cruz campaign a source describes as a potential “punch to the face” that involves the number 172.

Here is a brief summary of what will simply be called the “172 Plan” :

**Talks are ongoing and more numerous between Team Trump and a second party over the last 48-hours.

**If these talks lead to an agreement, it will be a game-changer in the 2016 Republican nomination process.

**Manafort is said to be personally leading the negotiations with Donald Trump’s full approval. In fact, it’s believed Manafort was the first to suggest this scenario last month but did so then more as an observer of the campaign. Now he is a top-ranking operative/adviser for Team Trump.

**This ongoing negotiation has sent the Cruz campaign scrambling to block further negotiation from materializing and getting a considerable assist from powerful GOP forces.

83% of Floridians dislike Ted Cruz and it’s already too late for Ted. He will lose the state of Florida and with it the election.

Add to the fact from Florida that 87% dislike Cruz in Ohio, 83% dislike him in Virginia, and 75% in Arizona. Ohio, Florida and Virginia are must win states for a Republican nominee. Cruz cannot win.

Cruz is a fraud.

Let me get this straight. The guy who has been a hard right conservative his entire life. Can articulate conservatism better than anyone since Reagan. Is a fraud

Yet a guy who has been fairly liberal until a couple of years ago. A guy who can’t articulate conservatism except caricature type slogans is a straight shooter.

Hey. Last year Ben Carson was a sponge-leaving pyramidist Seventh Day malpractitioner.

Now he’s a dreamboat.

You mean the guy who renounced his Canadian citizenship just a few years ago?

You mean the ‘hard conservative’ who’s deeply connected to Jeb and Family?

You mean the college ‘master debater’?

That guy?

Me too, I’ve done some extensive analysis and agree he should handily exceed 1237. But part of his delegate mathematician’s (Barry Bennett, guy is smart as hell although not much to look at) roadmap is to capture at least 100 delegates of the 323 unbound of which Marco’s 172 are included in those unbound.

Because Cruz’ slimy minions are stacking the deck with unethical tricks (and possibly actionable) for the unbound delegates, it may be moving Trump to consider a deal with Little Marco who has no real prospects going forward.

I guess I can stomach it but would have liked to have seen someone else.

There are many millions of Constitutionalists whom Trump had better start courting, and soon.

As a software guy, one of the mistakes I'm prone to is underestimation of budget and time. As a political commentator, you seem prone to overestimation of the value of your insight, and even more how much that insight is valued.

It's possible to say things in a way that makes what you're saying lose all it's power. In the first place, everyone already understands the spirit of what you're saying, but your holier than thou delivery would be noxious if it weren't making me laugh.

You truly are a man with an inflated self image, who is destined to be ignored by your fellows, whether you are right or wrong as they ignore you.

I’m not staying home. I’m explaining to you that [...] that [Donald Trump] cannot be trusted to turn around our Ship of State.

You really don't get it, do you?

He's the only person that can do that.

Anyone else, and the corrupt DC status quo stays exactly the same: everyone in the Uniparty will have a spot reserved for them at the feeding trough.

For Ted Cruz to "rock the boat" at this point is an absolute fantasy. Look who he has added to his financial team. Look who's backing he has now received.

Do you think Ted Cruz would suddenly betray his GOPe benefactors who propped up his failing campaign? His wealthy donors?

Donald Trump is the only candidate who can't be bought.

The corrupt system in Washington DC needs a wrecking ball taken to it, not a couple of symbolic tweaks.

The Trump-hating crowd has been totally seduced by the hysterical Left/Media/GOPe character assassination campaign against an overall decent, patriotic American who loves his country and only wants to roll up his sleeves and work tirelessly for the People to make America great again.

Ted Cruz and the rest of the GOP leadership should be ashamed of themselves for trying to sabotage the will of the voters. They offer nothing but fear-mongering, demonization, and a contested convention as an "alternative". It's sickening and pathetic.

Yup, I’m on board with that. Fed up with illegal alien Presidents, and when Trump gets in the first thing he needs to do is close that loophole. There are plenty of posts up for grabs...Rubio, Kasich, and Carson can all find slots that need filled, although Rubio is not my cuppa tea. My main objection to Cruz was his citizenship status, and nothing has changed. Although I was impressed that he was well informed I came to discover that, lawyer-like, he twists the facts to further his agenda, and totally unlikeable when he played Carson to steal his votes.

Thanks, but thanks more to Barry Bennett and Paul Manafort.

Ping to #79 and #147.

Did you know Paul lives in Trump Towers in Manhattan? So we can imagine he and Donald are quite close.

83% dislike him in Virginia

No surprise, he wants to abolish 5 government agencies; that’s half the VA population :)

Same here. I still would like to see Trump pick Palin, if nothing else to see and hear the exploding heads. Also, despite criticisms, she could 'learn the ropes' over eight years, be a mature 60 yrs old and be the first female President.

Those who say “I am one silly millimeter longer than the point where I become a #nevertrump member” are actually already a #nevertrump member.

I wish them good riddance.

I saw a link by this site owner where he said Ted is a cheater and should drop out. Now.
I agree with that.

Did you see that link or do you have it handy...?
Please send me that link. I am one millimeter from changing my tag line to that.

Kasich.

Trump has said he wants a pol that knows how to get bills thru Congress.

Rubio is Mr. Amnesty/Gang-of-Eight no way Trump chooses him.

Kasich is still waaaay to liberal for my tastes ala GHWB becoming Reagan’s VP.

I will just add this to the discussion but there are three possibilities for what the 172 plan could be. The first two were mentioned.
Rubio, and the April 26th primaries being those two.
I will just show the third, which is CA, which has exactly 172 delegates.
