A funny thing happened on the way to Michael Sam just wanting to play football -- and on being judged by his performance on the field and not his sexual orientation. After all, we were told ad nauseam, by Sam and his promoters in the sports media, that this is what Sam is about. If you Google Michael Sam just wants to play football, some 67 million results pop up. He also flatly stated that he "wanted to stop talking about his sexual orientation" and "let (his) work on the field speak for itself in a radio interview, among other places.
Yeah, right. Nothing says that quite like licking icing off the mouth of another dude on national TV. And Im sure the new Oprah TV series will have nothing to do with sexual orientation either.

Sad thing is he used his sexual orientation to obtain a position n the NFL. This means that some straight dude got overlooked.
I think that person or other persons wanting to play in the NFL can sue. I am thinking Bakke vs California. This is clearly a case of affirmative action.
Nice work.
This whole ordeal reeks of White House collusion (ie., the police acted poorly and Treyvon could be his son). Obama, Oprah and the gay mafia agenda are exposed in one vulgar display of affection. His phone call to Sam the Sham sealed it for me.
Now the O’s are in a double bind. How do they back away from the crap storm headed their way without undermining the gay agenda? Answer is they can’t. Catch 22.
My 2 cents.
Don't pull a muscle patting yourself on the back.
And when someone tells you it’s not a “choice”, ask them what they found to be the most compelling piece of evidence to the contrary. That’s always a fun conversation.
Somewhere in St. Louis, a closet is missing it’s homo.
We need a bleeding heart actor to do a commercial. “Your monthly donation of $20 can help ensure that there’s a closet for every Homosexual in America. Won’t you give now? The child you save may be your own.”
Queer deathstyle not “gay lifestyle”
Homorevulsion, not “homophobia”.
Those overlooked by the 7th round of the NFL draft probably have an easier time than a 7th round pick. That free agent player can single out a team that has a need that he more closely matches
Drafting is a claim of first-refusal. A drafted player can’t try out for another team until the drafting team gives the OK for him to leave.
No one is denied an opportunity if he has even minimal talent.
I wonder why he excerpted his own article?
If I have half a sh!t about the NFL I might actually be bothered by this media-driven spectacle, but I'm really just watching it, mildly amused, from a distance.
The NFL is going to end up losing a lot of viewers with this garbage. Parents with kids won’t have any games on if the NFL is going to push homosexuality as normal and something to be celebrated. My kids are mostly grown and know right from wrong and have already written off pro football. That is future customers for the NFL. Good job there suits. They are compromising their future business for a second rate player all because they want to be seen as tolerant. Well, ok then. Karma will be a female Rottweiler on this one.
You can't make this stuff up.
You’re a sad, sick and not very smart person. And FTR, when did I ever say that it wasn’t a choice? I think the whole piece is about how people, from Sam to the NFL to ESPN, have made bad choices.
Because it was the best way to post it. Now move along to something someone cares about.
I used to be a sports writer and sportscaster .care very little about it now, except where it intersects with politics, culture. And yes, it is amusing .from a distance. I am now at a distance, and it really helps to understand the big picture.
It was revealed that he agreed to the ‘reality’ show taping a while before the draft.
That indicates that the ‘kiss and cake’ was a set up and not a spontaneous action.
The so-called ‘reality’ shows are anything but. They may not be scripted but they are heavily edited and ‘events’ are reenacted until they get good video.
um yeah, sorta covered all that in the piece .
