The only thing predictable about Sarah Palin: The revulsion she inspires by those in the know. The whole schtick is tiresome. For months, now, Palins demise has been foretold in ominous tones and what amounts to cluck-clucking church gossip.
Sarah Palin is still here.
And shes going to be around. And she can run in 2012 if she wants to. And she will get the nomination if she beats everyone else running. And that is entirely possible.
People may not like it. They may predict that she cant do it for this or that reason. But nothing is off the table. And so far, nothing, besides some really successful Fox TV specials and a Discovery-Channel kind of Alaska documentary are on the table. Oh, and throw in some op-eds (that are smarter than anyone wants to admit). And, by the way, fundraise and show up at big Republican conferences.
David Carr of the New York Times wrote a begrudgingly admiring yet subversively nasty article:
Instead, she quit her day job and proceeded to become a one-woman national media empire, with the ratings and lucre to show for it.
With its tales of uplift and pluck, Real American Stories trades in the kind of easy sentimentality that provokes eye rolls among those of us who work in media while quickening the pulse and patriotic ardor of almost everyone else. At the beginning of the show, Ms. Palin promised that it would reaffirm our pioneering spirit and unmatched generosity, here and around the world.
And so it did, with two million people tuning in. It featured a young man with cerebral palsy who was inspired to walk by the love of a dog, a millionaire who financed the college educations of legions of underprivileged youngsters, and a soldier who died to save his brothers in arms. (LL Cool Js interview was withdrawn after he complained that it was going to be used in Ms. Palins show, proving that not everyone was in the reaffirming mood.)
Its not the kind of thing thats going to excite you guys on the East Coast, but everyone else is dying to hear stories like these, said one of her representatives who was not authorized to speak on the record but was authorized to slam the East Coast.
Let me just encapsulate it for you: How can someone so stupid do so well?
Newsflash: Shes not that stupid.
And when she lines up against other politicians, well see how she does. It will be interesting to contrast.
Dont you just want to see her debate health care with Mitt Romney? I know I do.
So while Sarah Palin may hold off for a few years on the whole Presidential thing. Then again, she might not.
Shes blazing her own damn path. And that path is not going off aimlessly into the Alaskan wilderness. Its going somewhere only she knows.
Considering our present options, if Palin runs, I will vote for her. I will support her in every way that I can.
If she waits for the future, it will be too late for her... and too late for the country.
Regardless, I am not sure that our country can weather the remainder of Obama’s present term, let alone the nightmare of a second.
More than ever, May God Save Our Country.
She will be coming into enemy territory April 13th and 14th- Concord, NH and Boston, MA and I’ll be there to see her!
Already have my “Palin for President in 2012 bumper sticker!
Her approach does have a Reaganesque quality to it, I’ll certainly admit that....
Palin is outstanding! I don’t agree with everything she does, (like endorsing Mcpain) but God bless her! She has more stones than anyone else in the republocant party combined!
Thank you.......everyone from tv pundits ,democrats ,republicans, FR trolls and supporters of other candidates keep saying that its over for Sarah but yet she continues on and growing, how many of them said after one or two things that she was through? She is second behind a soft lead by Romney, she continues to draw sold out crowds, because people want to see her and not so much the other candidates, its not a knock on your candidates folks! All she have to do is be ready next year and she has a chance.
That’s a great read, Thanks for posting. I would have loved to use some of those lines when going head to head with the Palin bashers on FR. She may not be their choice, and that’s fine, but then they better be getting involved in their party caucuses and activily supporting who they think is the better choice. Instead many of them have become nothing more that tools for the progresives who want to see sara crash and burn.
For me, like my tag line says, I want her to see the Potomac from her House.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Sarah could teach Republicans how to be REPUBLICANS?
I’d settle for her teaching them how to be conservatives instead.
I, too, am impressed by Palin. I also think it's very far from certain that Obama will get his party's nomination for a second term. I think there's a very good chance that some other Democrat will be nominated over Obama in Democrat primaries for the 2012 presidential run.
Sarah Palin represents the Republican party I joined.
Her ideology is very close to Ronald Reagan’s.
Most of the other potential candidates are impostors.
She still has my vote. the only way I could change it would be if Patreus runs.
Let me just encapsulate it for you: How can someone so stupid do so well? Newsflash: She's not that stupid.
That was my inference in my post.
And that path is not going off aimlessly into the Alaskan wilderness. Its going somewhere only she knows.
1) Sarah Palins record shows her political genius. She is of the same mold as Margaret Thatcher and Golda Meyer.
2) Sarah is attacked because her background, demeanor and style conflicts with her genius. She is a-typical. (Not from an Ivy league school( how can a person be a genius and not be from an ivy league school?),she rasied a family while running for office ( how did she do it? She didn’t even havea au pair.), she has traditional American frontier skills ( OMG she is so uncivilized!).
3) Sarah Palin has a wide ranging international experience in working as the governor with the governments of Canada, Japan, Russia, South Korea and China, in the Alaska shipping and fisheries venues of commercial activities.
4) Sarah Palin is genuine. No created imagery. What you see is what you get. There is no need to manufacture an image. This drives liberals and leftists crazy. She has no closet skeletons. If she has any skeletons at all, they are public.
5)Rahm Emmanual and Obama tried to ruin Sarah Palin by manipulatig her image, and by creating fase charges of corruption through abuse of the Alska giovernment commplaint system. Her resignatuion from office was brilliant, and she actually launched herself against them at that point. Her politial strategy is a lot like judo, or the art of the sword set out in Go Rin No SHo.Brilliant.
5) There is nothing they now can do to stop Sarah Palin, unless they succeed in having her kidnapped , beaten and possibly murdered.Sarah needs to guard herself with effective, loyal security. The left is actually fascist at this point , and they have successfully cloaked themsleves. Sarah will expose them, and is already doing so.
6) We need to support her and fund her efforts. She will drive this election cycle for conservatives, whether she runs for national office or not.Her job is to turn the Republican party back to its roots, and end the rule of the RINOS inside the RNC.If that means a presidential run, so be it. Her first task is to take back the party.
7) We love you Sarah.
Beautifully stated! I enjoyed reading your comments.
(I guess maybe you’re late answering your pings) :)
Yes , late! Sorry.
Oh no, don’t be sorry. It’s just that I noticed the date of the article and figured you were just getting here to answer your pings. :)
Outside of his Leadership Skills in the Military, I know nothing of his Political beliefs or his positions on any of the issues that our Nation faces today.
Thanks...
