A battle over religion is brewing in central Indiana after a public school wanted second graders to sing a song declaring, Allah is God. The phrase was removed just before the performance after a national conservative group launched a protest.
The principal of Lantern Road Elementary School in Fishers, IN, said they were trying to teach inclusiveness through their holiday production. It included references to Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Las Posadas and Kwanzaa. However, no other deity, other than Allah, was referenced in the show.
It went off without a hitch, Danielle Thompson told the Indianapolis Star. Several families thought it was a nice program.
But others did not especially David Hogan. His daughter came home with a copy of the lyrics just days before the production. Hogan, a Christian, told the American Family Association, a conservative advocacy group, that he was deeply concerned to learn that his daughter had been singing, Allah is God.
Heres what the children were assigned to sing:
Allah is God, we recall at dawn, Praying til night during Ramadan At this joyful time we pray happiness for you, Allah be with you all your life through.
But when it came time to perform the Christian part of Christmas, children were assigned to say:
I didnt know there was a little boy at the manger. What child is this? Im not sure if there was a little boy or not. Then why did you paint one on your nativity window? I just thought if there was a little boy, Id like to know exactly what he (sic) say.
Micah Clark, executive director of the Indiana AFA, launched an Internet protest once he heard about the allegations. What surprised me here is that weve had a secular scrubbing of Christmas for so long and the school apparently didnt see the problem with kids singing to Allah, he told FOX News Radio. You wont even mention Jesus and youre going to force my child to sing about Allah?
In email correspondence the school initially defended the reference as a way to be inclusive of all religions. However, once complaints starting rolling in, school leaders decided to eliminate the Allah reference.
That drew the ire of the Muslim Alliance of Indiana. Its unfortunate if that was removed from the program just because of Islamophobic feelings, Shariq Siddiqui told the Indianapolis Star. Schools are a place where we should learn more about each other rather than exclude each other based on stereotypes and misconceptions.
But Clark said having children bow and pray is problematic for non-Muslim families. (This show) affirmed Islam and negated Christianity. I wouldnt have had a problem if it had been equal to all faiths.
At least one Christian family approved of the Allah reference. Im a Christian and I was in no way offended by the program at Lantern Road, said Judy Grasso to The Star.

If I had kids, I could never put them in government schools.
There is nothing wrong with teaching inclusiveness. Every child of Muslim parents should be taught about equality between sexes. Every child of Muslim parents should be given Giedeon Bibles and home study materiasls to share with their parents. And their protests should be poo-pooed as well. See how that flies.
Allah is God, we recall at dawn, Praying til night during Ramadan At this joyful time we pray happiness for you, Allah be with you all your life through.
... unless you get caught showing your face, in which case your life will be very short because you will be killed .. for honor ... oh, and DEATH TO AMERICA!
What the hell is los posados?
“If I had kids, I could never put them in government schools.”
No kidding.
Will this last until the first suicide bomber lights himself up in an American mall, crowded city street or subway?
Chill out! It’s not like they were drawing pictures of Jesus on a cross.
Lack of common sense and thickheadedness. Characteristics of liberal educators across the U.S.
I don’t want Islam being taught in public schools.
The public schools are quick to pick up on whatever chic liberal idea comes along. Now it’s singing about Allah. It’s extremely difficult to support institutions whose prime movers are leftists.
Vote Congress OUT - Save America!

Mrs. Grasso accepts Allah’s deity and is not offended by the wholesale endorsement of a religion which condones honor killings, shooting nuns in the back, throwing acid in the faces of young girls who resist arranged marriages to old men, or the beheading of three young girls who had the audacity to attend school in Indonesia against Islamic prohibition of equal access to education.
If we don’t remove religion from our educational system and extracurricular activities, we can expect more glorification of Allah by the dhimmis who think Islam is benign.

Great.
What they should teach is that Jesus and Muhammad both loved children and the difference between their affections. That should get some parents hopping.
i am soooooooo thankful that i can afford to send my children to private school. i really feel for the parents of children who are subjected to this type of stuff.

Some muzzie screaming about rights when one cannot speak the name of JESUS sans getting tossed in the slammer, the nuthouse or court which will toss you in both after a lengthly psuch review...."Do you here this Jesus fellah? Does He speak audibly to you? And just how many times do you er, speak to this "imaginary friend?"
Meanwhile, it's dang tootin' okay to slander the King of Kings for a mutant stone god in which Muhammed MURDERED hundreds of thousands and his followers MILLIONS. They've been at war with us religiously and with the dagger for years and yet our nations leaders and judges are too limp dinked to STAND UP!!
All the consequences of allowing the POTUS to be a Muslim.
We need to really really think hard about controlling this Islam problem with our children.
Or we will surely lose them.
Oh, that will just intensify the lectures we will get about tolerance and understanding, and how diverse a nation we are and how all points of view must be given a full airing.
