A battle over religion is brewing in central Indiana after a public school wanted second graders to sing a song declaring, “Allah is God.” The phrase was removed just before the performance after a national conservative group launched a protest.

The principal of Lantern Road Elementary School in Fishers, IN, said they were trying to teach inclusiveness through their holiday production. It included references to Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Las Posadas and Kwanzaa. However, no other deity, other than Allah, was referenced in the show...

Unbelievable. BTW, what the heck is "Las Posadas"? That's a new one to me. And - hey - they forgot Festivus! So this school is not teaching full "inclusiveness". ;-)

"Las Posadas" is a Spanish holiday celebrated in LAtin America. It has celebrates Mary and Joseph's trip to Bethlehem.
Frankly, this is the racism of "diversity". Why are certain non-American/Anglo traditions given time but not others. I think the kids could learn a lot more from Coptic, Ethiopian, or Eastern Orthodox Christmas traditions. But this isn't about actual diversity it is about making Latino kids special.

“Allah is God.”
That's is not an Arabic translation. "Il'ah" is "god" in Arabic. They are actually having the kids sign half of the Shahada the Muslim declaration of faith: "â ilâha illallâh, Muḥammadun rasûlullâh "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah"

My 5 year old nephew was sitting in church with his arms folded in front of himself and he let out a big sigh. My sister noticed he was intently staring at the crucifix above the altar and she asked him what was wrong- and he said out loud for all the church to hear:

“Jesus Christ! When is he going to come down from there?”

I assume that you mean most "public" school teachers. That certainly has been my experience with a few exceptions. Even thirty years ago when I was in college, I noticed that the education majors had the lowest SAT scores and were mostly "C" and "D" students when they took classes outside of the School of Education. Inside the School of Education, however, they all thought they were brilliant because they got "A's" and "B's" in the core education courses (math, history, English, etc.), which were dumbed-down versions of the courses that the rest of us had to take outside of the school of education.

Many of the teachers in the private schools, however, are a different breed because private schools are not required by the state bureaucrats to hire state certified teachers. As a result, many of the teachers started teaching as a second career after working for years as engineers, doctors, lawyers, scientists, and business owners.

I sent my kids to private schools here when we lived in town that run 20K a year till my boys started getting lectures on having BB guns..and i thought what the hell am I paying for?

can’t say if the teachers were smarter but they are just as PC except about Christmas

he went to a Church of Christ school that was not too bad for kindergarten

*i live in a county that went 80% McCain...very few minorities of any kind...southern and yankee transplant whites who are mostly conservative leaning...their school has 3 black kids and two are adopted by whites, 3 Jewish kids and one Muzzie from India.

and yet they work their ass off to blot out Christmas....punish 647 so as not to offend 4...now that makes sense..

it is unbelievable...it’s worse in Nashville proper if that is any consolation...

only lefties airheaded women who believe in Kwaanza and want to be in Oprah’s audience teach anymore

Home-school. One more reason to home school.
