Recently on ABC television news, one of their videos showed a U.S. Marine hunkered down in Afghanistan complaining on camera that he was not allowed to shoot back when under fire. This situation resulted from Obama’s new rules of engagement from his new Afghanistan commander. General McChrystal explained it to BBC news that they are now advising troops to break off from firefights with the Taliban, "If you are in a situation where you are under fire from the enemy... if there is any chance of creating civilian casualties or if you don't know whether you will create civilian casualties, if you can withdraw from that situation without firing, then you must do so”

Obama just handed the Taliban the keys to killing more Americans!
“If you do not know...” puts the responsibility on the Soldier to know that there is no way he could hurt a civilian... and since you can never “know” (prove) a negative, Soldiers must break off every firefight or risk courts martial!

I’ll go so far as to say that I think the more body bags come back from the Middle East, the better “The One” likes it. And that it correlates with his dithering on Afghanistan.
I think his plan is to dither and hedge and hem-haw and screw around, meanwhile letting the body bags pile up, until the MainSlime Media takes their cue from him and starts the same kind of screaming anti-war stuff they did toward the end of the Viet Nam surrender and pullout. I actually think his visit to Dover was part of that plan; intended to DRAW ATTENTION to the returning coffins.
Once the media-induced hue and cry to end the war gets great enough, Obama can throw in the towel in the Middle East, and surrender and pull out; and he can say he is only doing the bidding of a majority of Americans, whether it’s actually true or not. Since when was this man ever concerned about being truthful?!”
If this report of the latest rules of engagement is correct; I REST MY CASE!
And the general staff and congresscritters seem to go along with this rule of engagement. I wonder how many of our GIs think: “Am I pointing my weapon in the right direction?”

Oh, I forget. Most Americans rely on/believe the media for their news - the same media that doesn't report things inconvenient to the obummer or the socialist agenda.
HOWEVER that is no excuse - we have the Internet, we have FOX, we have Rush, etc. We should be keeping ourselves aware - no excuse for not knowing about the ROE that obummer set up LAST SPRING - and the many deaths that our soldiers have suffered since =

Following is a email I sent out in early Sept - at the time, August had been the deadliest of the war and Sept was on the way to surpassing it. It did. And Oct even more.

which are NOT to provide air cover for our troops, even when ambushed, pinned down and being killed. (the rationale for these new ROE’s admits that it will cause more deaths for our troops now but that it will be worth it in the long run. Worth it for WHO?)

I have the same dream every night.
America has a president that loves its freedom, people, history, heritage, soldiers, and families.
Then I wake up.
I had not heard any of this until tonight at church someone mentioned it because they were asking for prayer for family members in Afghanistan who are dealing with this and watching their friends die. You are right. why is this not blasted across the news....oh yes, the MSM
