An ill wind is blowing in America. Ordinary citizens from coast to coast are feeling a growing sense of outrage over what they are witnessing in Washington. At least one talk radio host states that the rage he is hearing from his listeners indicates that trouble is brewing beneath the surface that could erupt into the streets, not in violence, but in peaceful protest that sends a signal to Washington.
Excellent post.
When I go to local council meetings, I, too, wonder where the conservatives are. Yet three or four leftists will show up and scream for “change.” Then next month, the council passes an ordinance banning the cutting of trees on private property, and conservatives can’t figure out how that happened.
Our revolution started in local governments. It didn’t take place in King George III’s court.
Run for your local council seat. ATTEND MEETINGS of your local council. Volunteer for the zoning board and planning commission. This is where many of your rights in property are taken away. The leftists on these committtees will back down. They are cowards. Don’t believe me. Go see for yourself.
Take back your own neighborghood first. This is where the ideas and future leaders will come from. Don’t wait for a leader to show up. Be one yourself.
The head (federal government) cannot operate without the body (local government). Local governments can resist and sabotage every dictate and order passed down from Washington. It’s that simple.
thnx for posting those, good ones.
Don’t despair. This is a war that will be fought in many venues and on many fronts. The battle lines will be drawn through living rooms and workplaces.
Let’s not forget that this country was founded upon the idea of individual liberty and personal responsibility - and we lost this country to ideas that appeal to the worst in human nature.
So, yes - ideas matter.
If we are going to emerge from the coming war with a free American Republic (for we surely do not have one now), the ideal of liberty and its underlying philosophy will have to be reconstructed in every home and in every classroom.
The Way of the Warrior is something that operates on many different levels. You’re a warrior every time you stand up for what’s right. Everyone has a part to play.
Remember also that the opening day of the first American revolution was fought in part by many Dangerous Old Men.
:0)
You have it exactly right, sir. This war will be fought on many levels. IT isn’t just about guns. It’s about standing up and asserting your rights and voicing your opinions.
90% of it is just showing up.
You have said a lot of the things I’ve been thinking (and saying, just in different words). What ARE we waiting for? Christmas?
...and Eisenhower.
How about a national strike? Shut the country down one day.
Government collects NO income taxes.
The citizens have a supporting role in this mess because we keep funding the government and the government uses those very funds against us!
Both scenarios are deepy disturbing...I have wondered if uhbama's arrogance has startled his close gulag and caused them a sleepless night or two. And I have wondered if uhbama is a tool being used for that reaching of 'critical mass' you wrote about.
It is getting surreal, for real.
agreed.
And an intellectual giant
“Connect with people in your own neighborhood to build your own ‘Alarm and Muster’ network.”
It’s already happening. www.alarmandmuster.com
Many viable and lawful ideas have been posted to resist the criminal government. As you said, people now need to show up and implement them.
Some, unfortunately, have given up and are ready to kneel and be fitted for chains. These people need to be ignored. Defeatists or agent provocateurs - whatever they are - are not helpful at this time. The resistance is only starting to get organized.
People who desire a hands-on fight can do this: Look up your state’s open meeting law. This law forbids secret meetings in local government to decide policy. And believe me, liberals in local government are constantly holding secret meetings. With this law, you can sue local government officials, nullify ordinances, sue them personally and even throw them in jail.
The open meetings law is very powerful and needs to be in every conservative’s portfolio.
Yes Yes Yes
INDEED.
Yet with a gentle, unpuffed up spirit.
