I am taking some time off from FR to cool down after the election, and to celebrate my son's wedding in Alabama. So if you don't get pings and articles to the Judaic/pro-Israel/Russian Jewry list, I'm on vacation.
While I am in the deep South, I will be working on a history series of Southern Jewry which will appear at Jewish-history.com and also at Chabad.org, which will be posted here when I return.
Stay strong, FReepers! The American people are tough and will survive.
Don’t be gone from us long, Alouette! We’ll miss you! :-)
(And tell your son Mazel Tov from FR!)
Already missing your creative 'Barf Alert' variations ...
All the best, Alouette. We will miss you.
Anyway, good luck, and I hope to see you back here on FR soon (unless I get banned while you're away :o).
Kind regards to you, FRiend.
No way. You'll never make it to camp.
FMCDH!
B’shaah tovah.
My wife’s grandfather from Romania moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi as a small child and then to New Orleans, where he lived for the rest of his life. Someone named Herskovitz, I believe, recently wrote a book about Jewish history in Vicksburg.
Have a good trip and a good time. A thought: one thing we have going for us is the leftists can’t blame us for every damn thing that goes wrong now. Heh.
Find some good fried chicken.
Andy
Congrats to your son on his wedding. Have a safe trip!
The best to you while you are on “vacation” from FR. You will be missed. Taking a break is a good idea for many.
Have a good trip and may G_d be with you.
Wow. Does it count if someone is “grafted into the vine”?
Sarge...i thought your tagline from last night was ok.
I will always be a proud American, but i am very disappointed in my country today.
Shameful that this guy was elected
My our Lord bless you & your family!
That was may, not my! OOPS!
While you're researching, you might consider the Jews of Texas. There's a long, proud history of Jews in the Lone Star State. Start looking in Dallas and Houston. Jewish Texans have been noted philatropists, business owners (think Nieman-Marcus), and politicians (like the previous mayor of Dallas).
Alouette, I am really going to miss your pings, and news of Russia and your kids.
If things get worse in the old (and future?) Soviet Union, I hope you’ll start up the ping list again.
Good luck with your history book, and congratulations on your son’s wedding!
Shalom,
Ed
Mazel tov on your son’s wedding.
I look forward to reading Chabad.org. I’ve done some editing for them.
Blessings on your son, we will miss you dear FRiend.
It’s going to take a while for things to even out so
drop in from time to time.
May peace be upon you and upon all Israel. Amen.
