What Karl Rove Should Tell La Raza
Human Events ^ | 07/10/06 | The Human Events View

Posted on 07/10/2006 5:42:12 PM PDT by garbageseeker

White House adviser Karl Rove is scheduled to speak tomorrow at the annual conference of the federally funded, left-wing, open-borders-advocacy group, the National Council of La Raza.

If he does not want his speech to look like an act of appeasement, he should confront La Raza on its opposition to commonsense policies designed to secure both U.S. borders and U.S. pocketbooks.

La Raza, which means “The Race” in Spanish, has denounced as “horrendous” and “appalling” the House immigration bill passed in December, which was sponsored by Judiciary Chairman James Sensenbrenner (R.-Wis.) and supported by the overwhelming majority of House Republicans. The bill, which calls for tough worksite enforcement of immigration laws and 700 miles of border fencing, was condemned by La Raza as a “laundry list of mean-spirited and intrusive provisions concocted by the most radical immigrations restrictionists in Congress.”

Will Rove defend the immigration reforms passed by President Bush’s party in the House and tell La Raza that House Republicans are neither “mean-spirited” nor “radical”? He should. House Republicans deserve Rove’s support.

The President needs advisers like the ones Ronald Reagan had.

In 1981, shortly after taking office, Reagan lamented "runaway deficits" that were then approaching $80 billion, or about 2.5 percent of gross domestic product. Within only two years, however, his policies had succeeded in enlarging the deficit to more than $200 billion, or 6 percent of GDP.

The deficit is now 500 Billion in 2006 dollars. The 200 billion that actually grew to over 350 billion in 1986 is the equivilent of almost a trillion in today's dollars. So get off you damned high horse.

So it isn't so much about the Constitution and the rule of law, huh?

If the Constitution and laws ruled, this would not be going on nearly to the extent that it is. It's all about the Constitution.

What race are they talking about?

The race to turn the United States into a third world cesspool.

Clinton arrested and convicted more businessmen who hired illegals than Bush, and he was a whore's whore. Just because Clinton and his gangsters moll commie wife, Hillary committed over 100 felonies, and treason (Loral) : )

The entire class of recent President's haven't really done any better.

Bush has been by far the worst.

No he hasn't.

For a disingenuous poster who's already told me that I am not intellectually worthy of your opinion(s), you sure have a penchant for posting to me.

Now, "shoo fly, don't bother me" --- you're merely an anonymous keyboard jock and I'll stand by my claim that you're a retread/troll.

Well with that weight behind your position you wouldn't think you would need to resort to comments about stolen shopping carts and music.

Add to that rott'n, spending during Reagan's eight years was up around 22.5% of GDP. It's been around 19.5% for Bush.

The advice that Bush is getting is second rate. He could be a great president but his advisers are squandering his greatness. And appealing to Hispanic Nazis are not helping him but hurting him among the Republican faithful.

Me too. Gotta go. Just so no one thinks I'm going soft, I'll throw this bomb out here:

---The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) has just let the cat out of the bag about what's really behind our trade agreements and security partnerships with the other North American countries. A 59-page CFR document spells out a five-year plan for the "establishment by 2010 of a North American economic and security community" with a common "outer security perimeter."
"Community" means integrating the United States with the corruption, socialism, poverty and population of Mexico and Canada. "Common perimeter" means wide-open U.S. borders between the U.S., Mexico and Canada. "Community" is sometimes called "space" but the CFR goal is clear: "a common economic space ... for all people in the region, a space in which trade, capital, and people flow freely." The CFR's "integrated" strategy calls for "a more open border for the movement of goods and people."

The CFR document lays "the groundwork for the freer flow of people within North America." The "common security perimeter" will require us to "harmonize visa and asylum regulations" with Mexico and Canada, "harmonize entry screening," and "fully share data about the exit and entry of foreign nationals."

This CFR document, called "Building a North American Community," asserts that George W. Bush, Mexican President Vicente Fox, and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin "committed their governments" to this goal when they met at Bush's ranch and at Waco, Texas on March 23, 2005. The three adopted the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America" and assigned "working groups" to fill in the details.

It was at this same meeting, grandly called the North American summit, that President Bush pinned the epithet "vigilantes" on the volunteers guarding our border in Arizona.

A follow-up meeting was held in Ottawa on June 27, where the U.S. representative, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, told a news conference that "we want to facilitate the flow of traffic across our borders." The White House issued a statement that the Ottawa report "represents an important first step in achieving the goals of the Security and Prosperity Partnership."---

On immigration, he as been by far the worst. He is deliberately refusing to enforce Borders and immigration laws. He is in charge. The failures of the Federal government to enforce borders and immigration laws 5 1/2 years into his presidency are HIS. He doesn't want borders anyway.

"The key to this whole thing is enforcement, and many of us believe that key has gone more or less permanently missing."

Absolutely! Whatever is decided, the law must have 'teeth' to it.

So my choice is a total scumball traitor, or a useful idiot Republican who takes in all of the vermin, and innocent peasants that the racist Fox wants to disgorge. I think there is a real conservative out there who will rid me of this odious chice. At least I pray to God there is!
