It is fitting on a day to celebrate the Irish, never known for their culinary prowess, you'd botch a cake recipe ;-)Though momentum is gathering to ban all things Francais, they did at least scale the heights of civilization(briefly!) and create a Genoise cake.Or, was that the Italians and the cake originate in Genoa?

Screw the French...it was the Italians! It should be light, moist and NOT a brownie...

Good afternoon, and Happy St Pats Day....

Last nite we had our corned beef, cabbage, carrots and herbed potatoes, with Shamrock cookies, and lots of Irish beer, all done to the tunes of Irish bagpipes, on the CD player...a fine evening indeed...

Soon BigDom needs to call work, and pretend that he is sick...he will then start getting ready for his big evening at OBlarneys, where he will eat and drink and march along, with the bagipers, that come every year to OBlarneys....

I however, dont attend the festivities...OBlarneys is packed to the rafters on St Pats Day, and my arthritic knees will never sustain me through an entire evening of probably standing(as find an unoccupied chair will be a miracle)....

But I will take BigDom to his festivities, and he will take a cab home, when he is ready to come home...

Now BigDom is 1/2 Sicilian, and 1/2 Irish....tho most of the time, he feels more closely with his Sicilian half, as he was raised only by his dads Sicilian side...but on this one day of the year, BigDom becomes totally Irish...he is from the Sheehy clan, and his moms name was Eileen, and her dad was a big tall red hair Chicago policeman....

Now when Andy was in Fiji or Thailand on his world trip, he met a fair, blue eye, red haired lass, and her traveling gal pals...Andy and his buds and these gals all formed a large, boisterous group...when this redheaded gal, mentioned that she was from Ireland, Andy inquired of her last name, and she said 'Sheehy'...Well, Andy was quite amazed at the coincidence, that his paternal grandmother was also Sheehy....this redhaired lass, said that the Sheehy clan is a very small clan, in Ireland, and that all members of the Sheehys are related by blood....so she and Andy believe that they are long lost cousins...quite an Irish coincidence...

I am still around.
Several things happened.
I had to use a vacuum to suck a maine coon out of my 'puter's power supply.
My army of undead was worsted by a Victoria's Secret catalogue.
I was staked through the heart and attacked by nuns.
They didn't appreciate the jokes I told at first.
Cripes this hurts....

Once upon a time (allegedly) in a nice little forest, there lived an
orphaned
bunny and an orphaned snake. By a surprising coincidence, both were blind
from birth. One day, the bunny was hopping through the forest, and the
snake
was slithering through the forest, when the bunny tripped over the snake
and
fell down. This, of course, knocked the snake about quite a bit. "Oh, my,"
said the bunny, "I'm terribly sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I've been
blind since birth, so, I can't see where I'm going. In fact, since I'm
also
an orphan, I don't even know what I am." "It's quite OK," replied the
snake.
"Actually, my story is much the same as yours. I, too, have been blind
since birth, and also never knew my mother. Tell you what, maybe I could slither
all over you, and work out what you are, so at least you'll have that
going
for you." "Oh, that would be wonderful" replied the bunny. So the snake
slithered all over the bunny, and said, "Well, you're covered with soft
fur; you have really long ears; your nose twitches; and you have a soft cottony
tail. I'd say that you must be a bunny rabbit." "Oh, thank you! Thank
you,"
cried the bunny, in obvious excitement. The bunny suggested to the snake,
"Maybe I could feel you all over with my paw, and help you the same way
that
you've helped me." So the bunny felt the snake all over, and remarked,
"Well,
you're smooth and slippery, and you have a forked tongue, no backbone and
no
balls. I'd say you must be French".

She looks like she's in pain there.
No-one told her she can't stop a bulldozer by standing in front of it?
