Good afternoon from the windy Pacific Northwest...the sun has finally appeared, but the winds persist...batten down the hatches this wind may persist over the weekend...

Nothing new or important occuring here...just got BigDom up a short while ago, must get him ready to face another evening of work at the post office....he is glad its finally Friday, as he is gleefully envisioning his upcoming three day weekend...

It will be a three weekend for him as he plans to call in sick on Monday, St Pats day...he calls in every year on St Pats day....thats because he always goes to a wonderful local pub, called O'Blarneys....they have lots of green beer, Irish beer, Corned Beef and Cabbage, and traditional Irish Foods, and best of all, they have a large group of bagpipers, who march and perform and drink, and liven up the place....its packed, everyone is shoulder to shoulder, and BigDom(being 1/2 Irish) thoroughly enjoys himself...

I never go...I cant stand those great big crowds...so I just drop BigDom off, and he takes a cab home...I am always surprise that the post office personnel office, never seems to note that BigDom seems to get sick on the same day every year....St Pats day....but he has so much sick time built up(more than 4 months worth), and since he only has two years to go at the post office, before retiring, he figures he should use some of it before he goes, as he will lose it all anyway...actully he has taken a few sick days here and there over the last few years trying to whittle down that stack of sick time...

It is nice to have a reserve of some sick time, just in case you really do need it...like when BigDom had to have prostate surgery, and then years later, his sinus surgery...but to have 4 months built up is really a bit much..

BigDom bought two 6 packs of Guiness, when he was out shopping last weekend...his motto, of 'Be Prepared' is always there....'Being Prepared' means having the appropriate liquid refreshments for the appropriate holidays and celebrations...

I will make our cornned beef and cabbage on Sunday afternoon, and we will of course, accompany it with some Guiness...

You are kidding!

The Smart family gives me the creeps - there is something "not right" about the lot of them.

Thank goodness for broken cars.

Go away Smarts.

I highly approve of the Boy Scout motto also. (In most things non-automotive.)

Strong thinking there BigFella.

The Smart family gives me heebie jeebies, and they always have. They all have the uncanny ability to cry without ever producing or shedding discernable tears.

BigDom just informed me that he is going out tomorrow, on one of his shopping expeditions, to scout other and assundry Irish beers...hes going to buy some Harp, and some Murphys Irish Red, if he can find it...says its hard to find, he does not know if you can still buy it in the United State...you can get Murphys ok, but Murphys Irish Red, has become scarce around here...

Part of the allure of RVing around the country, in addtion to just seeing the sights, and the people and sampling the local food, is sampling local brews...BigDom is sure looking forward to that...

I hope he can find a stocked vendor as quickly as I found their website.

Good luck in the quest Dom!
