What you did different to the lemon cake this time was you soaked it in vodka, as opposed to the time when you used rum, and the time before that used gin....

That sunset is mighty purdy, Grannie. Can you tell me if it is of Burlington Bay, where the slag accumulates from the steel mills? the water looks either frosty or covered in molten slag ;-) And, is that the City of Hamilton on fire in the background??

Alive?
That's debatable.
Think the jury's still out, deadlocked, boarded the doors, and run away on that one...

You KNOW that when she gets older and starts dating, the infamous 'bathtime' photos will be prime blackmail material.
Use them wisely.
(Con a car ride somewhere from her and purposefully crack everyone up during the ride...)

Well, Westy, I dont want to have to pick one or the other....just go to both...have been up to Canada a few times, but never to Mexico, so might chose Mexico, just because I have never been there...

Thanks for the lovely pics from last nite, our fabulous mountains...and the lovely Skagit Flats...I remember a couple of times going up to the Skagit Valley, on that road going out of Mt Vernon, past Concrete, and watching the bald eagles nesting along the Skagit River...quite a lovely sight....

Nothing much of any importance going on around here...just got done IMing with Andy....he went down to California over the weekend...left Friday nite, and returned Sunday nite...he went down to Palo Alto to visit with some of his old Cornell buddies, and then went up to Petaluma for the real purpose of his trip, attending his cousins 28th birthday bash...had a good time at the party, tho found it to be quite tame, at least compared to the normal partying that Andy does...but he got to see the relatives, and his old friends, if even for only a short time...

He had to return on Sunday nite, because, 'Ta-da', he finally got a regular job...ever since he retuned from his year long round the world trip, he has done nothing but consulting and contract jobs, which altho are great paying, still only last for a set amt of time....so certainly in between doing work here and there, and collecting unemployemnt when he was eligible, he figured it was time to settle down into a regular job....

He did most of his job hunting online, and he immediately got responses, one from a company, which oddly enough, was a 5 minute walk from where he lives...so he went in, interviewed, and they immediately offered him a job, which after two days thinking it over time, he accepted...

Its a small company, which he prefers, as he gets to have lots of responsibilites and duties, which he likes...he does not like great big giant companies, as he feels they pigeon hole you into a set job...he likes to be able to expand his horizons, and take on lots of responsibilites and duties...its very informal which he likes(wearing a suit, or dressing up, is like death to him), has 25 employees(tho they are rapidly expanding), its just a five minute walk from home, so he can go home at lunch, kick back for an hour, and just cook his own lunch before heading back to work....the pay is less than he had been making in his short term consultant jobs, but still way more than he says he needs....All I know is he still makes way more than BigDom even with all BigDoms overtime pay...and since he can walk to work, he saves on transportation costs and wear and tear on his car....So all in all, hes quite happy...he has been there for about two months now, and is quite happy to be back in the normal work routine...

He says, tho, he is so glad that he did take that year off to travel around the world, and got to see and do all that he saw and did....I dont think his travel urges will ever be satisfied, but that long trip satisfied him for a while anyway...

BigDom and I went up to Seattle a few weeks ago, to spend a three day weekend up there, and of course, got to visit with Andy, drank lots of beer, ate lots of great restaurant and pub food, ,and had a fine time...

We probably wont see Andy again, until he comes down to Olympia, for Easter...

BigDom is going down to Florida at the end of March, for two weeks...he will spend the first week with his aunt and uncle, and then spend the second week with one of his good friends from Chicago...so he is looking forward to going down there...I am of course, as always, invited to go with, but decline to go....I enjoy our separate times apart for the spring vacation....besides he will still have a third week left when he returns and we will probably do some things together then....in the fall we will have two weeks vacation time together, and that is enough for me....

And that is todays report from Western Washington, still grey and dismal as far as the weather goes, and they are predicting more and more rain, which may involve some flooding in various areas...also predicting the possibility of high winds, which is par for the course....spring can be a turbulent time, no matter where one lives...

'Old People' cars?
A couple years ago when I was eight, 'old people' were driving Mustangs, and 'young punks' were driving Caddilacs.

Not sure what kind of reversal that was, but it lasted a few years. (Late 80's)
Personally, I prefer Volkswagens.
