Gran...the official "s" handbook. Remember? You can't be a paragon of virtue and be the author at the same time...or maybe you can...;-)

Wunnerful, Wunnerful,

Peyton place was a long running TV series, and mentioned in a few songs of the 60, like the Harper Valley PTA song,

I keep looking at how the golden years of America might be behind us.

You cheer me up on a morning like this.

I've actually been lurking far longer than participating, but this is such a welcoming crowd I felt at home. Any time you want, just tell me to get back to work, and I probably need to.

Your RV'ing adventure is just what I'm looking for. I'd have retired 4 years ago with 30 years in the military if I'd stayed, but I wasn't raised with the temperment that would make me excel at taking and giving orders in the service of our country.

Oh well, I'll figure out another way to retire, sooner rather than later too. I have a wise accountant who says, "Make sure you retire with three things: Time, health, and money. Too many people manage to get two out of three and that doesn't work for retirement."

Cheers.

For what those anti-war protesters did, here's what settles me down: Remember the impeachment of Clinton? The Democrats and their supporters wouldn't even look at the evidence and wouldn't even regard the constitution.

These folks are more of the same. Remember the quote by JFK, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"? These guys are the farthest from asking that question, and it is time to quit thinking their lives are worth something. It is time to quit advocating free speech for them, they don't deserve the protection of the constitution since they don't understand it.

Look for the fuzz at the top of the heads. Thats barley. No other crop has fuzz at the top when it is golden like that. Still a little green on the stems at the bottom, probably is in the hard-dough stage in the kernels, water at about 22%. Way to green to combine yet, but you could swath it and let it sit for three days, combine it, and put it in the bin to dry. You can combine it at 18% and take it down to 12% in the bin. Above that it spoils. It all depends on the weather. If you have a week of good weather, you could let it stand. It doesn't look like it is falling over at all. If it was going to go more than 65 bushels you would probably see some of that.

I'm having a real hard time getting in the mood to work today.

Your pic is very spring-like, Gran. We had a snow squall here this morning. Enough already...

The cherry blossoms will be late this year. :-(
