Meet my husband

and my dog
To: westmex
My wife's grandfather was an instructor for some of them.
Kinda odd, considering he was younger than most of the guys he trained.
He was also a mechanic on the planes.
Mostly, though, I know guys from it's modern incarnation as the 'youngest of the service branches' the Air Force.
The guys at Stewart are a proud lot.
Their mission is to move equipment en mass from one place to another as fast as possible.
And their pilots are hot dogs in the C-5's.
In short, they're all crazy.
Which made it fun to go and bother them, they understodd me just fine.
(They tried to seduce me to the dark side!)

Looks like you're more interested in working on teh planes, or flying them.
(I did so hate dressing up in dress uniform. I preferred my combat uniform.)
Considering I'm 27, it's weird that I know and have met people from back when the AAC was still around.
But.. back then Matamoras PA was a ferrying point for all kinds of aircraft on short hops.
And after WWII, the small airports in this area kinda had all kinds of aircraft types gravitate towards them.
Then almost all of the small airports closed.
Love the art on the plane. A Dog eating an ammo belt.. and fring out his nose(?)

Tragically, I live in the People's Republik of Austin, TX.
I'll be visiting Roswell for a wedding this coming June however...seeing all the red soil, tall pines, cool streams there.
Give the pics another go - the red x's are not doing justice to either the dog or the hubby.

Hello Grannie,
Last night we were partying in this smoker's lounge until the news out of Baghdad happened. I love this place.

Well, I thought it was a German Shepard.
Shepards are close enough to wolves.
Husky and Malmutes are closer... close enough I don't want one.
Still, it's a neat image.

Evening.
I must apologise for not seeing that you were on this thread.
Otherwise, Gran might've warned you about me.
Something like, "Don't get too close, we fear it's contagious."
Or something like that.
Anywhoos, it's been a slow day and my mind is in low gear at the moment.
So I'm kinda lurgy and behind everything right now.
So Gran, you don't have to worry about me infecting her with weirdness at the moment.
I just don't have the energy to add to the Forces of Darkness.
Or was that 'Farce'?

Friend of mine had a husky female, she was supposed to be a breeder but was too small, that kinda loved to play with me.
She kinda liked to leap at me and grab my jacket.
Then she'd shake her head, let go, lean on me, then run away and peer at me around the coffee table.
Had to wrestle the dog a few times before she'd calm down.
Seem every time she saw me, it was play time.
Like seeing me signaled play.
Sidenote, I really don't like dogs.
Got bit in the face by a German Shepard when I was little.
So I kinda am leery of dogs.
But, for some strange reason, dogs like me and try to get me to wrestle an dplay with them.
I think I'm cursed.

I had a Malamute.. Sweetest dog in the world. I called him my fifth child..and I did help deliver him and cut his umbilical cord. Also being the runt of the litter, had to make sure he ate. He made me never want another dog..because he was too hard to lose.. ;)
I guess I was his mother too..
