Hi A/C,
In Provo we have the company which pioneered the synthetic diamond, and most of their diamonds go into drill bits and milling heads for working super hard materials. One of my daughter's boyfriends works there, and approximately 0.3% of all bits manufactured are out-of-spec, and garbage. One day my daughter came home with a hundred&some carat diamond, a real honker the size of a big stack of dimes.
She loved to carry it in her jeans, and on one of our desert trips she dropped it, and we walked the whole trail until we found it again.
Cheers.

Sounds like the keystone kops a little doesn't it? Of course a lot of things do today...

Can you imagine having fingernails anywhere close to that? If they took some abuse and didn't fall off, they'd be weapons... ;)
I'd like to see her clean house.. riiiiiiiiiiiight.. ;)

Great story Sundog - I supposes she knows that diamonds are a girl´s best friend. Not the stuff that Loddy foist off to his light of loves of course.

Thank you.
I'm actually hard at work, but working on my own stuff today.
When it's your own company the distinction gets blurred.
I see where there is a search effort underway in So. Utah to find the missing landing gear. That would be remarkable. Some ultralite pilots specialize in low level searches, flying their motorized parachutes just off the ground. One fellow has made such a specialty of it he has earned over $600,000 finding and selling meteorites.
Cheers.

*Stupid look on face with pained expression, and mouth wide open.*
She dropped it?!
Doe sit flouresce?
And if so, what color?
(Most diamonds, even synthetics, flouresce.. usually white, yellow or blue. Synthetics usually flouresce yellow. The hope diamond flouresces blue.)

Good evening assorted sickos, pervs, weirdos, jailbirds, dregs, flakes, ne'er do wells, tin foilers and siblings!! Or, should I say, hello to various members of the Nevers clan ;-)And to their misbegotten Spanish relatives, pickled in sangria or marinating in olive oil like a sardine ;-)

Dang Habs - how was happy hour this evening?
A good time had by all, I trust.
We're just waiting for the temps to lower from a balmy 78 to a more seasonal "low thirties" this evening.
Cheers.

Happy hour made me 'happy".You are blessed to be experiencing such extremes in temp, we just have cold and bitterly cold, mixed with hard packed, crunchy, icey snow....
I enjoyed a lovely roasted poultrey with steamed asparagus and washed down with wine and scotch.Biscotti and fruit salad aided later in my digestion ;-)
To: habs4ever
Great dining there...move south, you are not a tree.
G*d did not want to vasicillate between merely Cold and Bitterly Cold...that's for eskimos, seals, and sperm whales.
A super evening up there.
