Dodge introduced its Tomahawk V-10, 8.3-liter (505 cubic inch) concept motorcycle at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 6, 2003. The superbike features independent four-wheel suspension, and its engine, borrowed from the Viper sports car, can propel the Tomahawk at speeds of nearly 400 mph, according to Dodge.

Very cool.

I think they're magnificent. When I look out the window, everything I see is brown and drab gray. Your pics look like paradise to me. ;-)

Hmmmmm...400 mph might be a bit much for travelling around the Beltway. I'd hate to be hanging on the back at that speed. ;-0

Thanks a bunch for the fotki sharing - things are looking great in Ft.Myers Beach. What white sand!

Mr.Weather has decided to return to semi-crappy here. Cool and near-drizzle after a gorgeous day yesterday.

1. At 8:53 a.m., when the
ship was crossing over San Francisco, a data point flickered
on monitors at Mission Control indicating that the flow of information
recording the temperature of the hydraulic systems in Columbia's
left wing had suddenly ceased.

2. At 8:56, when the ship was somewhere
over Utah, the temperature in the landing gear and brake lining-again
on the left side-registered high.

3. Two minutes later, three temperature
sensors embedded in the skin on the left flank of the ship quit
transmitting.

4. A minute later, temperature sensors in the left
tires winked out too. All these data hiccups were reported by
the mission controllers to the flight director. Finally, when
the spacecraft was about 207,000 ft. (63,000 m) above Texas,
Charlie Hobaugh, the spacecraft communicator, alerted the crew.

5. "Columbia, Houston," he said. "We see your tire-pressure message."
"Roger," Husband responded. "Uh ..." All at once, communications
were cut off as if by a knife, and with them went every other
scrap of data coming down from the ship.

6. Sundog's hypothesis: The exploding tire ruptured
the airframe's passenger compartment and precipitated
a rapid disintegration.

Sounds good to me.

Here's a west coast account you might like

The end was beginning way before NM or TX. If they could see the tiles leaving, there was a lot of time for some serious praying.

Answer:

Mrs. Sheare would want video, so she can par-t at my demise.
Hack, I'd par-t at my demise.
Ya know, do a jig on my own grave, or such..

(Yes, being fascetious.)
Mrs. Sheare woul;d stake me through my heart if I even thought of getting a motorcycle of any kind. She made the mistake of dating someone who owned a motorcycle before she met me. He insisted on doing 130 on the darn thing on the highway, with her on the back.

So, she'd murder me in my sleep if I thought of it.
But, hey, blowing one's eyes into the back of one's skull for amusement always sounds like a good idea at the time.
