This never would have happened if Gran was able to find her other eye.

Or I had at least one good one.. ;)

Hi Grannie,
Happy to hear you are back up to snuff. Maybe some red reflector tape on that white door, right at the top corner where it doesn't show when it is closed, would be a help.
I know about habits and how strong they are; I had a manual shifting car for 12 years, then a year and a half ago I bought an automatic, yet three days ago I jammed my left foot down hard on the foot rest -- It was still a habit of hitting the clutch when I need to shift !!!.
Last night was all about putting up fiberglass insulation in a shed I'm building, so I didn't get to do any fun stuff. Tonight is a concert put on by my daughter's school. It is maddening because she has a lovely voice, but refuses to sing or cooperate with the music teacher. Kids are that way...
I should break out the camera and at least try taking pictures during that, right?
Cheers. Gotta go now, build some software for our Chinese customers... It's OK.

Yes of course break out the camera. Get it charged and ready, and just put it on auto. The camera will do the rest.
The idea of the red reflector tape on the dishwasher door is a great idea. I never have the problem at home because the floor is pine and the inside of the dishwasher is stainless and shiny. It's the darned white on white with bifocals..
I am aching today, everywhere, but nothing broken..(just my pride)
Our eleven year old granddaughter brings the house down every year at the talent show at school. Al and I have never heard her sing, because we are always here. Her mother, father and sisters have only heard her at the show. She only sings when she is alone in the house. Fortunately, this year they had the show taped, so we are going to get a copy. I can't wait! I think I know what we're getting for Christmas.. ;)
Right now I'm listening to the CD they made us last year. It's my favorite. Mostly George Strait with Friends.. My very fav song is Silver Wings by Pam Tillis.. ;)

How's the wrists, Gran?
And how is the dishwasher today?
Give it a few choice words for us.

I was going to mention to you, you said your CD player was on the fritz?
We got a model from Costco, looks rather plain, it is a Panasonic which is $299 but it has a $50 mail-in rebate. It is sold as a DVD home entertainment system so it has 5 speakers and a base woofer, but it works really well when dedicated to CDs -- Because -- you can have it add some depth to the music with 2 speakers in front and 2 behind. It has circuitry to improve the music's resonance. We disconnect the 5th, the main speaker for music, and we have hung a speaker in each corner of the room.
It has the simplest controls on the box itself, and through the remote, you can get to all the rest. We liked it so much we bought a second one for my office downstairs, and my handy-man's helper (who has worked for us since March) likes it so much I have a third one under the Christmas tree for him.
They sell so many models with garish speakers now that people don't get attracted to more simple looking sets, and I've joked with my wife that the only ones sold by this Costco we have bought. Anyway, I'd recommend it, I suppose you have access to a Costco there...
Cheers.

'You have her face, and her eyes. But you are not her. - Can't stop what's coming. Can't stop what is on it's way.' -Tori Amos. 'Bells for Her'

"Dragon, you said? I must be in a down mood.." his eyes looked floor-ward. She felt as if the weight of the keep was bearing down on her.. either that or the whole of the world had just gotten heavier around her. It was obvious to her that Karsh was too deep in thought to notice what he was affecting, so she waved a hand before his face. He blinked a few times and looked around.
"She's not near here, is she?" he asked meekly, almost child-like. An odd question from him, since he could answer it himself by just thinking it. So she mentioned that fact to him.
"Why don't you just do that mind sweep thing you do? That'll tell you where.." she stopped mid word at his glare, "Aaaah, Yes. Quite so, deary."
"I wanted to know if she was nearby, not send her into convulsions." which is what would happen if he tried that now. He'd shown her his mind, and actually had her touching his hand. She would be vulnerable to hurt for quite some time. One reason he'd avoided contact for awhile, all because he was 'gifted' beyond measure. And he felt seperated from everyone by it. Close contact with him resulted in headaches, mental fugues, and sensations of disembodiment. Among other, stranger experiences. He knew that with time, such things would grow less, but he doubted that the Queen would be interested in holding hands like courting children, nor would she be able to stand up to the results of being 'wrapped einkold' by the 'gift'. She wouldn't be able to withstand the gift's more 'mordant' side effects.
Not that it mattered. He had a necromancer to destroy. And as he turned to prepare for his next move in the game of cat and mouse between he and the Archon, he felt a curious itching under his skin again. He cursed under his breath and raced towards where he knew it was coming from. Abilene held up a hand to say something, knew it was useless to speak to him, and followed as quickly as she could.
Karsh was way ahead already, a black blur moving through the darkened halls of his ancestral home. He leaped over obstacles as easily as a cat after a mouse, confounding anyone unfortunate enough to be startled by the sight of someone leaping 12 feet vertical. Karsh blew into the main entry hall opposite a set of stairs leading to the upper floors, only the stairs would take longer because they went to his left and right. So he did the next best thing. His right boot hit the top of the knewel post where he pushed off to his next foothold. Landing on a cornice on the pillar between the stairs, he again leaped higher, up and over the railing on the floor he wanted. In two bounds he had gone over forty foot.
Rathe was leaning on a corner looking over the railing when Karsh came over it from below. Looking like a brewing storm cloud, Karsh raced past without noticing that Rathe had near frighted to death at the sight of someone coming over the railing in such a 'spectral' fashion. Anyways, Karsh was too busy to bother with that at the moment.

'Reduction is addictive too, personality overview' -Alice in Chains 'Put you Down'
'You know what you're doing, so don't even. You're just too used to my honey, now.' -Tori Amos 'Honey'
Karsh slid around a corner, pushed a booted foot off from the opposite wall, and took off down the hall. By now, he had quite a group following him out of curiosity. Only Abilene ghosting along knew what was going on. And she wasn't saying anything out of fear of what they might find. They all ran faster after they heard a door boom twice and then crash to the floor. The crowd made it up to the door, splinters littered the floor. None were big enough to make a toothpick. The hinges were dust. Outright fear started to spread through the crowd. Why would the old warrior be in such dire urgency that a door resisting opening was seen as dire need to destroy it?
Karsh ran up to the door, bouncing off of it at first, and making a loud boom in the process. He tried the handle, but it didn't move. Stepping back, he gestured at the door with a strange look on his face. The door quivered at first, it was made rather sturdily, and then it made a thunderous bang as it came apart. Karsh heard startled shouts behind him as he flashed through the still falling bits of wood. He ran down a porter, leaping over the frightened lad's shoulder's in a one handed leap frog without slowing down. His other hand was clenched tightly and held about shoulder level. A strange glimmering was coming from his hand, illumining the hallway in a strange 'fuzzy' light. The porter dropped everything with a clang after Karsh passed him.
Karsh was, for once, thankful for being undead. He didn't need to slow down to take a breath. The crawling itch under his skin got worse. He was getting closer. Again, he came to another large vaulted ceilinged hall. And he was on another balcony overlooking the banquet tables below. He felt the itching sensation coming from across the gulf between balconies. He sped up his pace, put boot to railing and launched into thin air, his cloak flapping behind him. People below heard a thud above their heads and looked up in time to see the shape of Karsh shoot across open space over their heads as if he was on a steeplechase. He landed on the floor, skidded slightly, and rushed towards a concealed door in the corner of the passage he'd entered.
"Please, please, please be alright..." he was muttering under his breath. Surprised shouts frombehind told him the group had just made it to the balcony. In slow motion the concealed door opened before him. Too slow, he squeezed in sideways without slowing down- scraping his back on the door in the process. A metallic rasp echoed down the hall.
