Your marinade did sound wonderful. Our family used to get fresh lamb from a guy that raised them, along with looking after and breeding horses for my folks.Amazing how good farm raised lamb can be, that grazes on grass and herbs. The chops and legs were so tangy it jumped off ther tongue.

I do love lamb...shanks mostly.Nothing like a good shanks with veggies and spuds in winter ;-)

we did not get shower
instead clouds turned sauna into steam bath
it made heat worse
I am glad it is clearing up for you and you are getting blue skies and Sunshine and warmth
it turned out Happy nipped Bill on his nose in his excitement
when Bill returned from walk I saw drop of blood on his nose
Lulu loved every bit of her walk except when she stepped on thorns with all 4 paws and was not able to move, cause she could not put down one paw
she took me to the school for bad teenagers (across rosemont blvd)
the men were in there working to fix it up with radio playing loud
she wanted to saunter right in and get pets from the workers
Love, Palo

we passed Bill and Happy on our way home
both Happy and Lulu pretended they did not know each other
Happy acted like I didnt exist, Lulu acted like Bill did not exist
both dogs believe their walk would be ended instantly, if they acknowlede each other

We love shanks. One of our fav restaurants in Mass is Greek and has wonderful lamb shanks in their red gravy... Their rice with the red gravy is to die for.. The grape leaves, the stuffed cabbage.. They also have the best steaks you've ever eaten.. We have to go there now and then for a fix..

The cook told us that it takes at least 35 lbs of lamb and lamb bones to make the gravy.. I wanted the recipe.. I tried to collect that much, but failed.. lol

OK, now I am trying to picture this...Lulu, stuck in a thorn patch, with all four paws stuck on the thorns, and she, is unable to move...did you have to pick her up? That would be some heavy lifting indeed...

When Helga died, she died in the house...she was a big hefty girl anyway, but having died, she seemed even heavier...the hubby wheeled the wheelbarrow to the back sliding door, and it took the two of us to get her up off the floor...I laid her quilt in the wheelbarrow, and then we put her in and covered her over, and wheeled her out to our little pet cemetary, for burial...BigDom pushed the wheelbarrow along, and I was walking alongside, with my hand on Helga...

Thats also so funny about Happy and Lulu not acknowledging each other on their walkie...Knowing how much they do love each other, I guess they were more interested in having the full walks, knowing that when they returned home, they could see each other again...

It's usually the hours that get me.. I get up at three our time.. Some of us are so far apart in time. The only early birds are AC, Neets and Palo... Most of you are just getting going when I'm ready for bed.. sigh...

Oh, and usually Loddy.. He's never too late. ;)

hi cookie
here on the desert we have something called goatheads
they are seeds for the scorpion plant
they have 3 nasty thorns sticking out of each seed
since scorpio plant grows wild all over those goatheads are everywhere
I can walk barefoot on broken glass but I cannot walk on goatheads
this is what Lulu got in all her paws
my first thought was what will I do with 72 pound Lulu
but I was able to pull them out from each of her paws, so she could walk gingerly again
Love, Palo

I never really had much lamb , until about 15yrs ago...we were in California, and were in the Anderson Valley, visiting and sampling at various wineries...(The Anderson Valley is a new and upcoming wine area in California, on a road going from Boonville over to the coast)...

Anyway we were told to stop in at the Flood Gate Inn for lunch, which we did...we had a wonderful ground lamb patty, thick, juicy and rare, and served on a mound of wonderful greens, and assorted veggies..it was heavenly...

Gosh, tho, now that I think about it, we did used to have some wonderful lamb up in Seattle, at the Pike Street Market...

For those who have never been there(which I assume is most here), if you go to the Pike Street Market, while visiting all the different vendors, you can stop in one of several places for something to hold in your hand, and munch on, while shopping...

There was the Greek Gyros vendor, who always has a wonderful huge slab of lamb on his rotisserie, revolving around...order a Gyros, and it is that wonderful Greek Gyros bread, wrapped around shaved slices of lamb, and combined with greens and veggies, and topped off with a wonderful cucumber-yogurt dressing...Good eats...

We have lamb patties quite often.. We love them.. I also use ground lamb in all my Pasta Sauces.. I make my meatballs with ground lamb, beef and pork.. The extra that makes them good is a container of Rocotta cheese and a full cup of Parmesian.. My new recipe I got from my daughter Dyan, and it's the best one yet.. Yummm.. Good as any I've ever had, and all my friends and daughter in law are Italian...

I was once on foodstamps
it's not so much fun sitting long time in waiting room waiting for your number to be called

I have heard they have schools for unwed mothers
everyone else in your class will be 15 years old
the girls are very wild and exert a bad influence on the nice girls
next thing you know you will be joyriding with your fellow students, hanging out of cars, and making rude noises to passersby

You sure are right about that time difference, and the lull in posting...those who get up early on the east coast, are all active, while I am in the middle of my sleep....

And being that I am on the west coast, is just half the problem...I am a night owl, and do lots of things, puttering around late at night...and the hubby works until 330am...Often I dont go to sleep until just before he gets home, and often I am still awake when he arrives...so we get to sleep so very late...

Then we rise late...its just such an odd schedule...I try to go to sleep by midnight, our time, but often I cannot really fall asleep until 2am or 3am, our time, by which time, you have been up for some time...

You are up and ready to go, when I am just getting ready to go to sleep...blast it, if the earth were not round, this would not happen...where are the flat earthers when you need them, and what could they do to rectify this problem?
