Participants included Dr. Norris Bradbury, Director of Los Alamos and Dr. Edward Teller, the father of the hydrogen bomb - but no one seemed to ask, "What the hell are you talking about?"
You do realize this was released by President Trump, right?
Are you saying you don't trust President Trump?
According to the document the aerial phenomena occurred primarily in 1948, long after the defeat of Germany.
I don't think The Third Reich was launching any suboribital rockets, or rockets of any kind, in 1948.
Sounds like the first instances of space debris reentry to me.
Interesting since Trinity.
The rest is history, as they say; the history we know of, anyway.
Trust has nothing to do with it.
The F.B.I. collects thousands of documents for example, including every whack job crack pot file you can think of. I can believe these documents are genuine and authentic, but I’m skeptical when UFO stuff gets brought up.
The really weird stuff is the nuclear missile sites out West that had several sightings and associated malfunctions. Also a nexus with cattle mutilations in the 70s. The thing with working in the Air Force, and nukes, you can’t even talk about the woo-woo stuff or they yank your clearance and/or career is over.
“You didn’t see anything. Got that?”
France and Germany were aviation leaders, when the US was … not so much.
Germany arguably broke the sound barrier in 1944, and their rockets were going into space, depending on how “space” is defined. They had very good designers, and the technology specialists that followed our troops closely during the war were especially impressed with the wind tunnels. Far beyond anything we had at the time. They disassembled all of that sort of stuff and sent it to the US.
They were also pioneering in aviation or space medicine. The problem with that is they used prisoners of war to experiment on.
How long does it take someone to freeze to death in the ocean? “Well let’s find out”. If you notice modern life vests or flotation devices, they keep the neck area well above the water, as much heat is lost there. Guess how they figured that out? By killing people.
Hubertus Strughold was one of many “paperclip” personnel brought to the US. I think there might have been an Air Force clinic named after him. Kinda wacky.
Ask, and ye shall receive!
As one of the more bizarre books I have read (or, am in the process of reading), 'Empire Beneath the Ice, by Stephen Quayle', proposes that the Nazis set up underground bases in Antarctica, housing their flying saucer fleet, and in a way they actually 'won' WII. It might just be happenstance, but Admiral Byrd did lead a naval force down to Antartica shortly after WWII (Operation High Jump), and they came back somewhat battered (lost men, and planes). The natural reason given was that the losses were due to the bad weather, but the book posits that the damage was inflicted by the flying saucer fleet.
And then you have the July 1952 incident of flying saucers buzzing over Washington, DC. And then in the late 1950s, basically all the World's nations declared Antarctica off limits. Ostensibly to protect the penguins and environment, but that sounds unlike anything that is normally done...
So I echo the 'Seriously, What?' comments. Does the 'German Stations in Space' tie into these Antarctica incidents, or is this all nonsense? I don't know, but when I saw the 'German Stations in Space' lede, it reminded me of this Empire Beneath the Ice book, so I had to comment. Nazi underground bases in Antarctica? Sounds bizarre, but the world is a weird place, and we're just fed information that our overlords want us to believe - and nothing else that deviates from the narrative.
Yep, always been that way.
😆 I love it!!! 🥰
This is likely simply a reference to a theoretical concept Werner von Braun had proposed in 1946, building on concepts introduced by Hermann Oberth in 1923:

Hermann Oberth published Die Rakete zu den Planetenraumen (The Rocket into Planetary Space), which contained the first serious proposal for a manned space station to appear in scientific literature rather than fiction. Oberth’s study presented to the scientific community a broad treatise on the practicability and scientific value not only of manned permanent stations in orbit above the Earth, but also space flight in general. Oberth suggested a permanent station supplied by smaller rockets on a periodic basis and suggested rotation of the vehicle to produce an artificial gravity for the crew. Such a station, he said, could serve as a base for Earth observations, as a weather forecasting satellite, as a communications satellite, and as a refueling station for extraterrestrial vehicles launched from orbit.

Writing in the monthly journal Die Rakete, Baron Guido von Pirquet presented broad arguments in favor of the scientific possibility of manned space travel and the velocities required for orbital and interplanetary flight, of which orbital speed was by far the more difficult to attain. Von Pirquet suggested several different space stations for diverse functions: one in a near-Earth orbit as primarily an observation site and another station in a much higher orbit that would be more suitable as an orbital refueling station for escape vehicles.

Hermann Noordung (the pseudonym for Captain Potocnik of the Austrian Imperial Army) published Das Problem der Befahrung des Weltraums (The Problem of Space Flight), which included one of the first serious attempts to put on paper the design of a manned space station. Noordung’s proposed design consisted of a doughnut-shaped structure for living quarters, a power generating station attached to one end of the central hub, and an astronomical observation [4] station. He was among the first to suggest a wheel-shaped design for a space station to produce artificial gravity, and also argued the scientific value of such a station in a synchronous orbit above the Earth.

Hermann Oberth published Wege zur Raumschiffahrt, in which he greatly elaborated on ideas presented in his 1923 book. Oberth here presented several specific designs for orbital space stations, ranging from spherical living quarters for the crew to large reflective mirrors fabricated in orbit. Among several innovations were methods for fabrication in orbit, propulsion by particle emission, and small ferry vehicles to permit travel in the vicinity of the station. Such stations could be used for a variety of purposes, ranging from scientific observation sites to military installations.

In a summary of his work on rockets during World War II, Wernher von Braun speculated on the potential and future uses of rocket power and space vehicles. Von Braun prophesied large scientific observatories in space, the construction of space stations in orbit, and interplanetary travel, beginning with manned flights to the Moon.

“Space superiority”: Wernher von Braun’s campaign for a nuclear-armed space station, 1946–1956
Abstract
The literature on the history of spaceflight has depicted the early 1950s Collier’s articles mostly as a forerunner to the peaceful and scientific exploration of space. Yet the centerpiece of Wernher von Braun’s plan was a manned space station that would serve as reconnaissance platform and orbiting battle station for achieving “space superiority” over the USSR. One its roles could be the launching of nuclear missiles. When challenged as to the station’s defensibility, von Braun even posited pre-emptive atomic strikes from space as a response to the development of a hostile anti-satellite capability. . .
the centerpiece of von Braun’s plan for space travel, which he had been developing since at least 1946, was a manned space station which would not only serve as a base for further exploration, but also as an orbiting reconnaissance platform and battle station for achieving “space superiority” over the USSR. One its roles could be the launching of nuclear missiles. When challenged as to the station’s defensibility, von Braun even posited pre-emptive atomic strikes from space as a response to the development of a hostile anti-satellite capability. For von Braun, the space station was the “ultimate weapon” which could impose a pax Americana on the USSR (Fig. 1) [2]. . .

Ping
It could lift a ton, no more. But, Von Braun had been thinking of something like the Saturn V all along since his personal quest was the moon.
It is a well-documented fact that some of those German scientists, technicians, and lab rats went to the United States and the rest were taken by the Soviets. They even have lists of names for each group.
Von Braun was arrested by the Gestapo pending execution because he was overheard muttering, “We are launching rockets at the wrong target. We should be launching to the moon”. The SS was powerless to get him back, so they notified Hitler. Hitler ordered Von Baun back to his post and subsequently told the SS and Gestapo that they were not allowed to arrest scientists for political views or comments.
OK. Got it. And I’d like all the info on UFOs released...because there aren’t nearly ENOUGH problems for us to solve in America, today. ;)
Kind of a distraction from the REAL problems we’re facing!
Except, of course, there are confirmed observations of objects that are not known to anyone living on this planet. How can you be so sure they are less important than the problems we are currently facing? That seems to be an unsubstantiated conclusion on your part.
