Except, of course, there are confirmed observations of objects that are not known to anyone living on this planet. How can you be so sure they are less important than the problems we are currently facing? That seems to be an unsubstantiated conclusion on your part.
The case for/proof of alien lifeforms will bring it’s own set of problems; of that I have no doubt. :)
