The ongoing tensions between Turkey and Israel reached another high point on Sunday, after Israeli ministers reacted strongly to the suggestion of Turkey’s interior minister that Jerusalem could one day be reconquered by the successor state to the Ottoman Empire.
Speaking at a party convention, Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi said that “just as we witnessed the liberation of Damascus, Aleppo, and Karabakh, God willing, one day we will also witness the liberation of Jerusalem.”
This is a reference to the defeat of the Assad regime at the hands of the Islamist alliance led by the now-defunct terror group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which received significant support from Turkey.
Wake up and smell the coffee.
The corrupt Ottoman Empire is gone. Forever.
Jerusalem DC (David’s capital) shall remain the eternal capital of Israel. Forever. https://t.co/FRSR7ue1gP

In addition, he referenced the capture of Karabakh, a region within the Turkish-allied Republic of Azerbaijan that is called Artsakh by Armenians, who were the majority population until Azerbaijan captured the region in 2023.
Çiftçi continued by recounting his “heartfelt plea to the Almighty”: “O Lord, grant me the governorship of Jerusalem, even if just for a single day...”

I wish we would just leave the ME to itself. Cut all ties. The camel fornicators can never be trusted nor civilized.
That’s funny, because Istanbul will be renamed Constantinople again.
> Jerusalem will be ours again.<
How’s about this instead:
Constantinople will be ours again.
(I can dream, can’t I?)
Zechariah 12:3
1 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
4 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.
We can say the same about Constantinople.
Israel’s been making noise about annexing Turkey, so what do they expect?
Someone in a prominent position should say this from time to time.
The Lion of Judah Shall Prevail!
Amen
Tangent: any Greek scholars out there? There are countless ancient and modern cities that have the suffix “polis,” Greek for “city.” Persepolis, Heliopolis, Neapolis , Indianapolis, Minneapolis, etc, etc. Yet in English we us “ople ” for Constantinople. Anyone know why?
If we entirely abandoned the middle east, how many years do you think it would take before it became a problem we couldn’t ignore? The major countries (Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia) would quickly have nuclear bombs, ballistic missiles, and radical extremist islamic governments. Not sure that would go well long term.
So that means we go to war with all of them?
Erdogan, the self made dictator of Turkey, is one of the most evil and dangerous villains alive today. He took the secular Republic of Turkey and turned it back into an Islamic tyranny.
After years of detachment it would be easier to flex muscle and say go ahead we will nuke back starting with your magic rock shrine. Stay in your yard.
You only have to stop Iran, then Saudi’s and Turks won’t need to pursue nukes. Keeping Iran contained calms the whole region.
Why is Turkey still in NATO?
Turkey concerns me more than Russia.
“ Israel’s been making noise about annexing Turkey, so what do they expect?”
Citation, please.
Free Anatolia from the settler colonial Turks and let the Greeks return to their native lands!
