An alleged California arsonist who filmed himself setting a warehouse full of people on fire compared himself to Luigi Mangione after starting the blaze, according to court documents.
Chamel Abdulkarim, 29, allegedly posted a first-person video on Instagram on April 7 igniting multiple pallets at the Kimberly-Clark warehouse in Ontario, per a criminal complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Central District of California viewed by the Daily Mail.
'If you're not going to pay us enough to ******* live or afford to live, at least pay us enough not to do this ****,' Abdulkarim said, according to the complaint.
The footage then allegedly showed his hand holding a lighter as he added, 'Should have paid us enough to ******* live.'
'You know, we may not get paid enough to ******* live,' Abdulkarim said, per the legal filing. 'But these ******* dirt cheap.'
He also said that the '1% is a ******* joke' and claimed that he 'didn't see the share holders picking up a shift,' the complaint added.
During a call with an unidentified witness, Abdulkarim allegedly said his motivation for starting the fire was ******* eight hours, six days … stuck paying rent on a bulls*** *** apartment that I can't afford to ******* live.'
He added that 'a lot of people are going to understand' and compared his actions to when 'Luigi popped that muther****** [sic],' referring to the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December 2024.

IS HE PROFICIENT IN ENGLISH??
Well, he’s proficient in the F word. Does that count?
Someone tell me why he should not be hanged. If not publicly, then at least in prison.
Those buildings are inspected yearly by both the fire dept and fire sprinkler personnel and signed off as up to California state code. I’m sure they were inspected and up to code.
You should shut your pie-hole about things you know nothing about. Go take your stupid sob story ass somewhere else.
Hang him under the inspiration of Judge Roy Bean.
You're sure? ...and you are....?
And your surety has gotten us here, with an entire building burned down and the video evidence showing the perp did it with no more than a lighter used to ignite stored paper products.
You should shut your pie-hole about things you know nothing about.
So... shutting my pie-hole will change what happened? Shooting the messenger will prevent the next one?
And I know nothing about it? Like my own eyes didn't see the video from the perp?
Go take your stupid sob story ass somewhere else.
Like you own the the forum? And a public forum is not the place for discussion?
Are you sure you didn't meant to log into Reddit or Democrat Underground?
The fire protection systems are kept up to state code in buildings of that size and smaller, they are inspected and pumps and systems are tested and signed off as working and inspected by fire protection personel and the fire dept, what more do you think they should do?
I know because i’ve done fire sprinkler system testing and inspection myself. The inspections and testing are done routinely and they are no joke, especially in Ca where I’ve worked doing it, to think they didn’t have a fire protection system is ridiculous.
He killed himself doing it, but say alleged.
While it's a Free Republic tradition to not read the articles, it's far less of a tradition to not read the posts you're commenting about.
I never said there was no fire protection system. My point is that the fire protection system was likely rated for general warehouse use and not adequate for the storage of such a volume of combustibles.
The perp destroyed the entire building with a lighter and a stack of paper products. He didn't use accelerants or more combustible material, yet the entire building burned down.
Yep that is pure millennial logic and morals on display.
Maybe keep an eye on what's actually being stored in the building and determine if the sprinker system can adequately handle it.
"There's paper products in here."
"A few pallets?"
"No. A few thousand pallets as well as hundreds of reams."
"Got it. The bucket and the garden hose are sufficient. Carry on."
And as for professionalism of State fire safety in California, this is the same state that had the Los Angeles Palisades fire destroy entire neighborhoods because the reservoirs were intentionally emptied due to potential structural failures. The same inspectors kept coding them as "under inspection" year after year because there was no money to rebuild them after discovering fraud from when they were built decades ago.
California is also the state of John Leonard Orr, a serial arsonist, mass murderer, fire captain, and arson investigator who reportedly set nearly 2,000 fires through the state, and not remote grass fires.

But yeah, the "good guys" would never miss anything or do anything wrong.
yes he does. you think CA is going to keep him in jail long?
what if the water supply to the building failed?
It IS California after all.
Odessa has some Bandarites who are skilled in burbing a building full of people.
You are aware that it’s not 1911. Right?
Jerk.
L
That's a real possibility.
And now... the company gets the insurance money, and moves to a Red State. Jobs gone. Taxes gone. @$$hole.
Yes. For the literate among us, I wrote, "Let's not accept regression and indifference to human life 115 years later."
2026-115=1911
It's far more damning to have a building go up that quickly and completely in 2026 than in 1911.
I get it. You want a boogeyman. So do the building owners and/or operators who are negligent.
Let's be smarter than someone with a cigarette lighter and a stack of paper, and less incompetent or corrupt as the person or people who dropped the ball on the fire suppression systems. Either we engineer the risk out or we're no better than the savages who set it on fire.
The arsonists name: Chamel Abdulkarim - here is the etimology:
Chamel- to have sex with farm animals
Abdul- means fool or is stupid
Karim - smells bad
