First dish posted here that actually appeals to me!

Can you find it south of the 49th?

Howdy, luvie.

Did you enjoy having fresh air wafting through the house today?
Not quite warm enough for it here but it was still a decent day.

I would give that a go!

Back in the day I helped at many a country butchering (and still help out some deer hunters) and at many a scrap of raw burger, etc.

If you know how it is being handled there is nothing to fear.

For years, Mom would send us “care packages” of goodies before Christmas every year. Several years ago I opened the mail and had to taste a few things right away.

Hubby got home from work and asked what I was eating.

“Stollen.”
“What?!”
“Stollen. From Mom.”
“You stole bread from your mother?!”

I imagine you could find it in places like Vermont or Maine.

But it is easy to make it yourself. Get an unsliced loaf of bread. slice it longways. Before hand get some salmon spread, ard boiled eggs, or even sliced salmon (lox). Soften a box or two of creamed cheeze so it's spreadable. Seriously, you can't go wrong. If you can make a Sammich, you can make this. You could use sliced ham too, or swisscheese. You know, a real Sammich!

I would like that. I have seen that in old recipe books for fancy food at parties and showers. Frosted with cream cheese, I think.

“Gotta be the one with the whole berries in it!”

I’m a fan, too. Sometimes I’ll add some orange marmalade and walnuts. Guests seem to like it.

Is that like the bread you can (or used to be able to) get in cans? I think it was made by Bush, as in the Bush beans place.

I think the pain means pan which means bread.

Gross is right. Just watching the patrons mush it all up before eating it caused me to lose my appetite. LOL!

LOL!
That’s cute!

I used to cook professionally for awhile, the chef was an
absolute JERK!
He had this HUGE convection oven, with a fan that would
blow you across the room!

All my corn muffins had a big schnozz on them, from the
batter being blown across them by that Danged oven!!
On the chalk board outside, I wrote “Come see our Jimmy Durante corn muffins!”

Hey there, radu!

It WAS very nice to have a fresh-smelling house for a change. I take every chance I can get to do that in the winter. Well, in the summer, too, but usually that has to wait till about 3am. LOL!

Maybe it wasn’t warm enough for open doors there, but I know you must have enjoyed a temperature that didn’t make you cringe with cold. How warm did it get? Right now y’all are a bit warmer than we are. Amazin’!

None of your relatives ever served something that made you want to just leave without eating? LOL!
