No, with my hand up, it’s actually, well, better than it sounds.

They had steak tartar at a couple of restaurants in Italy when we lived there. My mom and I liked rare steaks, but neither one of us ever wanted to try that! ๐Ÿ˜„

I never saw it in Italy, but I wouldn’t have been tempted there either...even if it were hidden beneath spaghetti sauce. LOL!

Alsatians make a variation called “parisa.” Raw trimmed-of-fat chuck with onion, red pepper and lemon juice, which “cooks” the chuck. Grind it fine and serve it on crackers, yum.

LOL. French pronounce it similar to "pan". Just means "bread".

I've never made it myself, but have seen people make it. Cream cheese, salmon spread, ham spread. It's sort of like making a sandwich if the loaf you start with was sliced length wise. The grocers sell that bread at holiday time. After it is chilled, they slice it in the regular fashion, so you are served a multi layered "slice" of "bread".

It's OK.

You do have to be careful with it, keep it chilled.

Overindulgence - easy to do - leads to the worst “digestive wind” as well.

Great! You are a true "habitante quรฉbรฉcoise"!

Yes, it's fun holiday treat. Even kids can get in on the action. There's
nothing to cook really. No little hands to burn in on the oven. Kids
especially like the "decorating" with slivers of carrot, and peas, whatever
suits you.

Howdy, MS.B!

Luvie said there’d be a surprise tonight but no indication what it would be.

Good job!
